Real Madrid secured the Supercopa de Espana for a 13th time thanks to a famous 4-1 win over Barcelona in Saudi Arabia.

That famous win came courtesy of a Vinicius Junior hat-trick, a Ronald Araujo red card, a midfield masterclass from Jude Bellingham, and a defensive disasterclass by the whole Barcelona backline.

Here’s how X users reacted to the final:

Within the first seven minutes of the game, Barcelona’s once water-tight defence was caught napping by the brilliance of Jude Bellingham and Vincius Junior.

Bellingham played a delightful ball through to Vini, who raced into the box, around Inaki Pena, and then tapped into the net.

Just a few moments later, Barcelona’s defence were once again all over the place, gifting Vinicius and opportunity to bagged a brace before the tenth minute mark – an opportunity he duly took.

After huffing and puffing at the other end of the park, Barcelona managed to reduce the deficit in the 33rd minute through their star man Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish striker showed off some stunning technique to volley home from outside of the box.

Barca’s world would come crashing down once again four minutes later.

Ronald Araujo stupidly pulled Vini down inside the box, and the Brazilian subsequently stepped up to make it 3-1 and complete his hat trick.

Barcelona struggled to find a route back into the game after that third goal, seeing a lot of the ball but never really doing anything with it.

Madrid, on the other hand, looked like scoring every time they were in possession, and they duly did after the hour mark to make it 4-1.

This time it was Rodrygo who got the goal, sweeping home a cross from Vini.

Things went from bad to worse for Barcelona after conceding that fourth goal, as Araujo stupidly hacked Vini down and then deservedly received his marching orders.

It’s fair to say that Vinicius won this round of his long-term bout with the Uruguayan defender…

After that sending off, Madrid casually put the game to bed by controlling possession up until the final whistle.

It was a famous, and deserved victory for Madrid…

And a defeat that may leave Xavi on the brink at Barca…
