All of a sudden GWS Giants lead Brisbane by 20 points.

The latest efffort? A goal from Jesse Hogan.

GWS Giants 10.5 (65) lead Brisbane Lions 6.9 (45)

That is the perfect example of the “Orange Tsunami” there, with the Giants running the length of the field, moving the ball mostly by hand.

Once again, young Darcy Jones was in the thick of it, showing a fine side-step and turn of speed. It’s just his seventh touch, but it’s been an eye-catching debut.

After four minutes of the second half, Aaron Cadman goals and the Giants extend their lead.

It’s been a see-sawing contest, but GWS are threatening to break it open.

Amid a range of highlights from the match, Jamie Elliott took a ripping mark at the MCG today.

The Collingwood star said this Anzac Day skyscraper of a mark was the best of his career.

Greg Baum reports

The Giants have the slight ascendancy.

It’s pretty clear that GWS are going after Lions champion Lachie Neale, creating some niggle in the contest. It’s having some impact, too — Neale has 13 touches, but hasn’t had a major impact on the contest to date.

One player who has been extremely physical is the Giants’ ruckman Kieren Briggs, who has seven clearances to half-time. His opponent Darcy Fort is battling away, but the Lions really are missing “The Big O”, Oscar McInerney, out due to concussion.

GWS are ahead largely due to their greater efficiency with ball in hand. The Lions are leading the inside-50 count 31—23, but haven’t been able to finish. That’s been a theme for them so far this year.

– Andrew Stafford

This match could genuinely go either way.

Giants extend their lead to eight points at the main break. It’s a pretty compelling game.

This match – and the scoreboard – are as see-sawing as they come.
