Sadio Mane missed a penalty in Al-Nassr‘s Saudi Pro League victory over Al Feiha on Friday.
Luis Castro’s side found themselves behind after just six minutes at the Al-Awwal Stadium, with former Rangers striker Fashion Sakala firing the visitors into an unlikely lead.
Al-Nassr were without Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portuguese superstar suspended after being shown a straight red card in the club’s Saudi Cup semi-final exit last week.
As such, when the hosts won a penalty on the brink of half-time, Mane stepped up with an opportunity to level the game from twelve yards.
Ultimately though the Senegalese forward’s strike would balloon well over the crossbar, with his side entering the interval still trailing.

With the game approaching its closing stages, Al-Nassr would finally make good of their momentum when Saudi defender Abdulelah Al-Amri levelled the game on 72 minutes.
Having seized the initiative the hosts pushed on and Mane atoned for his earlier mistake to fire them in front on 76 minutes before adding a third with a sublime solo run moments later.
With a fightback win, and qualification for next season’s AFC Champions League secured, Ronaldo shared his congratulations to his teammates in a post on social media, writing: ‘Well done, Team’.
However, while Mane certainly made up for his error from the penalty spot it isn’t likely he will be taking Ronaldo’s place as the club’s designated taker in the near future.

Since arriving at the club in January last year, the 39-year-old has a perfect penalty record, netting all 14 he has taken for the club including penalty shootouts.
In fact, Ronaldo has not missed a penalty since Manchester United were dumped out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough in February 2022 with Joe Lumley denying the five-time Ballon d’Or winner from the spot during normal time.
