We’ve all had our fair share of embarrassing moments, but some brave Twitter users have decided to share theirs online in a hilarious new thread.
The thread was kicked off by Twitter user Erin, from London, who took to the social media site to ask her followers to share their most cringeworthy behavious, admitting her own was crying over a man who owned a car number plate that said ‘wavey’.
She was quickly inundated with dozens of replies from red-faced tweeters, confessing their most cringe-worthy moments, with the post racking up 3,400 retweets and 50,300 likes.

The stories included a man who walked in on his parents having sex while announcing the death of Princess Diana, and a woman who paid for her date’s dinner as she was being dumped.
Another admitted to passing out in the opticians in his early 20s when they put dye in his eye, only to wake up and find he’d wet himself.
One wrote: ‘Waited behind a mannequin for what seemed an eternity in River Island, before realising it wasn’t the queue.’
Another admitted: ‘I cried over a boy who once shook my hand, looked me in the eyes and said “just friends” after sex.’
Social media users from around the world were quick to share their most toe-curling moments
A second said: ‘Walking in on my mum and dad to tell them that Princess Diana had died, only to see that they were having sex. It was about 8 o’clock on a Sunday morning.’
A third added: ‘Fell down an uncovered manhole with one leg, while the other one kept me at street level in a pure lunge in front of about 100 people outside a train station.’
Another woman admitted to opening the door in her dressing gown to shout at her window cleaners, who she thought were trying to break into her house.
