Five individuals, including four teens, have perished in the previous few days due to the current heatwave, prompting officials to encourage the public to stay out of the water. The Coastguard has reported that one swimmer is missing and five others have been rescued from the water near Clacton Pier in Essex.

About the incident:

After six persons ran into trouble off the shore, the authorities were notified and a massive search and rescue operation was launched to locate the missing man. Communication manager at Clacton Pier Nigel Brown claimed the group was “dragged” toward the pier by the current. “They seem to have got trapped in the tide and the currents off the beach and drifted towards the pier,” he said to BBC Essex. “once you get under the pier you get the rip currents.” He claimed that crew members threw lifebelt rings overboard to assist some of the ship’s passengers who were in peril. He explained that the swimmers were concerned about a missing member of their group: “There’s one missing.” That individual is still missing, as far as I am aware. They flew a helicopter around.

Mr. Brown said that it was “impossible to discern their ages,” although he estimated that a few of the individuals were in their late teens or early twenties.

Statement by police:

Shortly after noon, Essex Police issued a statement announcing that rescue efforts had begun. The public has been requested to leave Clacton Pier since its closure. Two males and two females were sent to Colchester Hospital for further evaluation after being evaluated at the scene, according to the East of England ambulance service. There were three males released at the scene, and a fourth is still missing. The Essex Police Department has promised to provide further updates as events unfold.

In response to a “severe and ongoing situation” near Clacton Pier, a spokesman stated, “We are on the scene aiding emergency services colleagues.”

Emergency personnel are on the scene and working to resolve the situation; we will provide an update as soon as we are able to do so. As temperatures reached a record high and four teens and a man drowned in separate incidents, officials warned the public to stay out of the open water.

Last night emergency services were hunting for the body of a 14-year-old kid who is suspected to have drowned after entering the River Thames in Richmond, southwest London, yesterday afternoon. It came after Thames Valley Police announced that a 16-year-old teenager had died after getting into difficulty in Bray Lake, near Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Earlier, officers searching for a missing 13-year-old who got into problems in a river near Ovingham, Northumberland, recovered a body, Northumbria Police reported. According to the police, the teenager’s body was located in the River Tyne after considerable searching. On the same day, between Leeds and Wakefield, the body of a 50-year-old man was pulled from Ardsley Reservoir.

After the event, Leeds CID DI Phil Hughes remarked, “This incident serves as a timely reminder about the hazards of swimming in open water.”

As temperatures are expected to rise this week, I strongly advise against venturing near or swimming in any bodies of water.

Several people had to be rescued from the water yesterday after they got into trouble near Blackpool’s Central Pier. Two people were transported to the hospital for treatment, the BBC reported. On Saturday night, a 16-year-old boy was found dead in Salford Quays after being spotted in distress in the sea.
