Kunpimook Bhuwakul was born on 2 May 1997, in Bangkok, Thailand. He is a singer, rapper, songwriter, dancer, and record producer, best known for performing professionally under the name BamBam, as a member of the South Korean boy band Got7. The group has produced hits with releases such as “Flight Log: Turbulence”, “Eyes on You”, and “Got It?”

The Wealth of BamBam

As of early-2020, BamBam has a net worth estimated to be over $1 million, earned through a successful career in the music industry.

Aside from his work with Got7, he’s also worked with other artists and has appeared numerous times on television.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

BamBam aspired to a career in the entertainment industry at a young age. He enjoyed dancing, and as a child became a member of the dance crew called We Zaa Cool, which included Lisa. who would later become a member of Blackpink. He got his stage name from “The Flintstones” character Bamm-Bamm Rubble – the show was one of his favorites as a child.

He was then recruited by one of the biggest entertainment companies from South Korea, JYP Entertainment, and after moving to the country, trained there for over three years. He made his first appearance on television in 2013, as a part of the reality program called “WIN: Who Is Next” in which he joined three other future members of Got7. He trained while JYP was still recruiting members for their upcoming boy band, competing with YG Entertainment trainees who would later become iKon and Winner.

Shortly after their appearance, he debuted with Got7 the following year, marking the first JYP boy band since 2PM was created in 2008.

Success with Got7

Just after their debut, BamBam and Got7 released the band’s first EP called “Got It?”, which debuted at the top of Billboard’s World Albums Chart. They also reached the second spot of the South Korea Gaon Music Chart, which measures the popularity of songs and albums in the country.

Soon the group was gaining attention, especially with their live performances. The group emphasized their capability to do b-boy dances and martial arts, and many compared them to their predecessor 2 PM, who specialized in acrobatic dance moves.

Their popularity spread to Japan, leading to the group signing a contract with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, which saw them regularly perform in the country. The group also began releasing Japanese singles and albums which found success, including the chart-topping studio album “Identify” which was their debut.

They did not forget their main audience in South Korea, releasing more EPs and their second full-length album “Flight Log: Turbulence”. A few of their recent releases include “Eyes On You”, “Spinning Top: Between Security & Insecurity”, and their 10th EP “Call My Name”.

Other Projects and Activities

Aside from releasing music with Got7, BamBam has often been involved in other projects such as an appearance in the variety show “Real Men”, appearing alongside band-mate Jackson. He was also a permanent host for the show “M Countdown” alongside Jinyoung, and held that position for a year.

He also ventured into business, creating a clothing brand called double. The launch of his business saw the release of limited edition designs, with proceeds going to the organization Water.org, which aims to provide safe drinking water to various communities.

He has also created videos for the YouTube channel of Got7 and went on a solo fan-meeting tour in Thailand, which had him visit five cities.

In 2019, he became the spokesman against child abuse for UNICEF Thailand, in association with the country’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Against Children Abuse. He also helped children affected by the flood of Ubon Ratchathani. He recently worked with rapper F. Hero, and created a video for Got7’s YouTube channel, showcasing the group’s tour of the US.

Personal Life

It is known that BamBam is single – South Korean boy band members don’t usually engage in romantic relationships unless approved by their management. This is because their contracts often involve management also making decisions with their personal life, especially if it affects their public image.

His father passed away when he is young, and he loves returning home to visit his mother and three siblings, who are good at dancing. During his free time, he listens to music, and has a very strong passion for videography. He also owns four cats.
