In November 1984, he began working as a reporter for CBS News.
From 1989 through 1992, he was the CBS News Tokyo correspondent. Additionally, he relocated to Los Angeles in November 1992 to work as a CBS News correspondent. In addition, he has covered many major events and incidents during his stint at CBS.
