He’s known for rants about nerd culture and video games, and has also found popularity with the character named Francis, who is described as the stereotype of video game players.

Early Life
Boogie’s father was a coal miner and his mother was a teacher. He grew up with an older brother and sister. however, his siblings eventually left home to go about their own lives, and he was often left with his mother as his father was away working at the mine. During his teens, he went to a pre-collegiate program entitled Upward Bound, where he met his first girlfriend.
After matriculating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Virginia, but dropped out after breaking up with his girlfriend. His brother then gave him the chance to move to Fayetteville, Arkansas with him as an opportunity to start anew. He learned how to code and became a web designer, and also found a love for the trading card game “Magic the Gathering”. Around this time he was diagnosed with the disease lymphedema, and doctors wanted to amputate his leg. He refused but his condition worsened as he became more overweight. His father passed away from cancer, and his mother became disabled and unable to work.

With the internet continuing to grow, the supply of web designers increased significantly, and he no longer had a lot of opportunities at his craft, and he was mainly supported by a friend until he discovered YouTube in 2006. The first video he posted was a short clip of himself playing “Dungeons and Dragons” with friends, after which he began making more vlog content, but was discouraged by negative comments. However, he still gained attention, and his fans were increasing as they had found his content funny.
His popularity increased significantly when he created the character Francis, portrayed as a stereotype video gamer, and the video had him act out that his online “World of Warcraft” account was hacked. His subscribership increased significantly when he received a shout out from Ray William Johnson, since when he has mainly dedicated his channel to vlogs. He often talks about upcoming games, gaming news, and also a few rambles which usually have him sharing about his personal life.
His most popular videos are those that involve the character Francis, who is often seen raging and ranting on various topics. He smashes stuff, portraying stereotyped gamers who destroy objects when they are angry. He also has other characters, including the southern redneck Jessy who has his own YouTube series. He also started expanding his content to other popular websites, streaming on the website Twitch around 3-5 times a week, on which he usually plays a variety of video games, often including comedy in his routine. He also sings karaoke on stream, and has performed raps for his audience.

Boogie has also built-up his fan base on other popular websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Reddit. He then created his second YouTube channel, which primarily consists of him playing video games called “boogieplays”. In 2016, his YouTube account was hacked and his channel closed. However, thanks to him being at the event VidCon during the time of his hack, staff from Google and YouTube were able to recover his channel as well as his videos.
During the same year, he collaborated with fellow YouTuber McJuggernuggets in a series that featured Francis as a guy with multiple personality disorder. The collaboration went on for half a year until the plot of the series was supposedly resolved, but then resurfaced sometime in 2017 to finally put an end to the series.

Personal Life
For his personal life, it is known that Boogie’s mother passed away during the start of the rise in his career. He received a call from his mother from the hospital, and she passed away during his visit.
It was around this time that he met his future wife, Desiree Williams, who decided to move to Arkansas to live with him. They were in a relationship from 2009 to 2013 before deciding to marry, and they stayed together for five years. She was known to be supportive of his YouTube endeavors, and has been credited for supporting him during his struggles with obesity. Many fans were surprised when the two made the announcement that they were divorcing in late-2017, finalized a few months later. Numerous rumors started going around discussing why they divorced, to which Boogie confirmed that the main reason was because his former wife was no longer happy with him.
In 2016 Boogie had gastric bypass surgery to help with his morbid obesity. The procedure has proved successful, and since then his weight has dropped from 500 lbs to 375 lbs. According to him, this is the lowest that his weight has been since graduating from high school, when he weighed 380 lbs.
He resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
