Early Life
Bruce Springsteen came to this world on September 23, 1949, in Long Branch, New Jersey, the United States. As of 2023, he is 74 years old and has a zodiac sign of Libra. His full name is Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen. He holds US nationality and belongs to the Irish-Italian ethnicity.

In 1964, he paid $18.95 for his first guitar, which began his lifelong love affair with the guitar. The term ‘Boss’ remained with him since he was in charge of collecting and distributing the band’s nightly money.

Moving on to his academics, he went to Freehold High School. After that, he enrolled at Ocean County College and later dropped out to pursue a music career.
Professional Career
Initially, Bruce Springsteen started performing with various bands. His debut studio album “Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.” which was January 5, 1973, by Columbia Records received positive critical reviews but did average sales. He released his second studio album “The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle” on November 5, 1973.
He subsequently modified his technique and became a global sensation with “Born to Run” (1975). “Darkness on the Edge of Town” (1978) and “The River” (1980), which topped the Billboard 200 list, followed.
Following the release of his solo album “Nebraska” in 1982, he returned with his E Street Band for Born in the USA in 1984, which became his most commercially successful album and one of the best-selling albums of all time. All seven of its songs, including the title track, charted in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
Continued his successful career
Springsteen’s following three albums, “Tunnel of Love” (1987), “Human Touch” (1992), and “Lucky Town” (1992), were primarily recorded using session musicians. He reformed the E Street Band for “Greatest Hits” (1995), then released “The Ghost of Tom Joad” (1995) and “Blood Brothers” (1996).

Moreover, he released “The Rising” (2002), which he dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, seven years after The Ghost of Tom Joad, the longest interval between any of his studio albums. He recorded two additional folk albums, “Devils & Dust” (2005) and “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions” (2006), before joining the E Street Band for two more albums, “Magic” (2007) and “Working on a Dream” (2009).
Recent Career
The following two albums, “Wrecking Ball” (2012) and “High Hopes” (2014), topped album charts worldwide. He performed in the critically praised one-man show “Springsteen on Broadway” from 2017 to 2018, and again in 2021, in which he sang some of his songs and told stories from his 2016 autobiography; an album version was released in 2018.
He then released the solo album “Western Stars” (2019), the album “Letter to You” (2020) with the E Street Band, and a solo cover album “Only the Strong Survive” (2022). Letter to You debuted at number two in the United States, making him the first artist to have a Top 5 album in six consecutive decades.

Springsteen is one of the world’s best-selling musicians, having sold over 140 million records worldwide and over 71 million in the United States. He has received 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, and a Special Tony Award (for Springsteen on Broadway) for his work.
He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, got the Kennedy Center Honors in 2009, was named MusiCares Person of the Year in 2013, and President Barack Obama gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
