Luke Littler emerges victorious!

Riath Al-Samarrai: Another whistle when Humphries was throwing at 5-2 down. Littler fever getting out of hand? Not sure he needed the help. Wins 6-2 – a hammering.

Luke Littler is now just one leg away! Littler comes close to take out 105 but returns after missing double tops to take out double 10. Can you believe this guy is only 17 years old?

Better from Luke Humphries as he claws a set back. He could have won all three of the first legs but failed to do so! Nevertheless, he won this one with a double three on his final dart.

11-dart leg! Littler secures another leg finishing on double top to go three ahead. He’s now averaging 101 and is over 50 per cent on the doubles. No bad eh?

Humphries not happy with the crowd, annoyed with the whistling as he goes for the double eight to win the set. Having missed the finish, Littler mopped up with a double 10 – after initially missing the bullseye for the 170 checkout.

Riath Al-Samarrai: Crowd here very one-sided and perhaps a little unfair, too. Luke Humphries visibly irritated after one fan – a turtle, a banana, a cone, who knows? – whistled as he threw for double 8 and what would have been a hold for 2-2. He missed and Littler moved to 3-1

Humphries secures the first 180 of the match and the fans go wild but it wasn’t enough to win the leg. Littler secures the leg but he’s still not happy with his performance! Shaking his head after securing the double. Coming inside on the double 10 is what he seems to frustrated over.

We have a level game. Humphries takes the second set. He secures it with a ton-plus finish. All to play for!

Littler throws first and certainly has the crowd on his side. Not best pleased with his first couple of darts and even shook his head after winning the first leg – clearly annoyed he gave Humpries the chance to break.

Next up is poster boy, Luke Littler. Despite a world ranking of 31, the 17-year-old sensation was called up to the Premier League on the back of his performance at the World Championship and will make his debut this evening.

He has backed-up the call-up by winning the Bahrain Darts Masters and hitting a nine-darter in his first tournament afterwards, before coming second in the Dutch Darts Masters.

However, he will be looking to emerge victorious in the rematch of the World Championship final against Luke Humphries.

And just like that, we are heading into the final leg! Smith holds throw and it all comes down to this leg. Who has the bottle to finish it off? Van Gerwen has the throw… but Smith has already broken him twice in this match! Got to love the darts eh?

You’d have thought the Dutchman was going to win – averaging six points greater than Smith at the moment. Surely?

Van Gerwen has done it again, managed to work his way back from two legs behind. He now has the throw in the ninth leg of the match. Smith much bring his A-game as we know what Van Gerwen is like at finishing!

There he is! Van Gerwen just pulled off a very clinical leg. He hit his fourth 180 of the match to claw his way back into this match.

Michael Smith extends his lead. He made it hard for himself! There is denying that but he got it done. He found the single one to double one checkout.

As it stands, Smith is two legs away from securing a semi-final spot. Can he hold off Van Gerwen off?

Better from Smith in this leg, taking the lead once more. Both players truggled to hold throw but Smith managed to break Van Gerwen.

Van Gerwen came close to hitting successive double 20s to win the leg but couldn’t keep the second dart inside the wire.

Things are starting to heat up again.

Van Gerwen squares it off, fighting back from two legs down to get himself back into the thick of it. Smith looks annoyed at himself, letting Van Gerwen back into it by messing things up with 145 remaining.

Lots of facials coming from Van Gerwen during opening leg. Not happy with his performance, clearly wanting more from himself after losing the first leg of the match.

Van Gerwen did go on to secure the first 180 of the match in the second leg but lost to Smith after the Welshman secured a lovely double 20 to close it out.

Van Gerwen fought back to secure the third leg – finally finding his stride after Bully Boy wasted no time getting into his rhythm.

Fun fact for you… seven-time Premier League winner Michael van Gerwen is the only player in this year’s competition to have won the trophy.

But, can Michael Smith overthrow him? Only time will tell…

It was Gerwyn Price who emerged victorious from the second match. Nathan Aspinall will be disappointed with his performance in the final leg, missing four darts at double!

But, Price took his opportunity. With 120 left, the Welshman hit treble 20 with the first dart to tee-up a double tops finish… which he claimed.

Rob Cross secured his place in the semi-finals after beating Peter Wright. He had missed four darts at double 18 to the match – giving Wright the chance to fight back.

However, Wright couldn’t capitalise and at the fifth time of asking, Cross delivered the double he needed to see off Snakebite.
