It then transitioned into a full, layered tulle skirt. She complemented her look with a pair of open-toe heels and a small clutch. Her hair was styled in loose waves. Gere wore a classic, dark blazer, completing the look with matching suit pants and a crisp, open-neck light-blue shirt.

One fan, taken aback by Silva’s youthful appearance, remarked, “I thought that’s his daughter 😊.” Another, seeking clarification, posted, “It’s not his daughter?” The disbelief at the age difference was evident as another user added, “She’s young.”

Even though the two are used to Hollywood’s sparkle, their love story started in a quiet spot, far from the celebrity world’s flash and excitement. They met in Positano in 2014, at a hotel Silva was managing.

They reconnected after a friend introduced them. Silva said they felt a strong connection from the first time they looked at each other. “We couldn’t stop looking at each other all night, and since then we haven’t been apart,” she revealed.

And while she was not sure about being with him, Gere was pretty convinced. For the “Pretty Woman” actor, Silva was his forever after. He sent her flowers on the regular to woo her, until she agreed to go on a date with him. Gradually, the actor cleared any doubts Silva might have had in the beginning.

His romantic proposal, in St Paul de Vence in the South of France, only added to their story-book-worthy tale. In 2018, they walked down the aisle in a fairy-tale wedding attended by 39 of their closest family and friends.

Speaking about Silva, Gere revealed he was the happiest man alive to have been married to a beautiful, smart, fun, and patient woman. And the icing on the cake? He says she’s “a great cook, who makes the best salads in the world!”

After the two fell in love, Silva converted to Buddhism. She attributes the decision to her husband and says the conversion changed her life.

She also touched on their age difference, clarifying that, while Gere was older by two decades, he was more energetic. He is far more active than she is, and she finds it difficult to keep up with him.

The Spanish publicist and political activist reiterated that people often wondered what she gave him to make him crazy about her. “He knows I love him madly. I think I bring him stability. Above all, it helped I wasn’t an actress or a model,” she said.

However, what has been the most uniting factor for them is their shared desire to help others. Their commitment toward a common goal has strengthened their bond. And they don’t shy away from showing their love to the world.
