Who is her father Bobby?

Famous American singer-songwriter Robert Barisford ‘Bobby’ Brown Sr. was born under the zodiac sign Aquarius on 5 February 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts USA. He’s one of the pioneers of the music genre ‘new jack swing’, which is a fusion of R&B and hip hop; Bobby started out as a founding member of the pop group New Edition, which was founded in 1978 when he was only nine years old; he quit in December 1985.

Bobby was raised in Boston alongside his seven siblings, by their father Herbert James Brown who worked as a construction worker, and mother Carole Elizabeth who was a high school teacher. He was only three years old when he watched the late American singer James Brown perform live, and this was how Bobby fell in love with music; he went on to join a church choir, and looked up to Prince, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson while growing up.

Bobby’s early career took off when he became a member of the above mentioned band New Edition, however, it was his decision to pursue a solo career that truly catapulted him into the spotlight. His debut solo album “King of Stage” was released in 1986, and showcased Bobby’s evolving musical style; the album didn’t achieve massive commercial success, but rather laid the foundation for what was to come.

The turning point in Bobby’s career was the release of his second album “Don’t Be Cruel” in 1988; the album became a massive hit and solidified Bobby’s status as a solo artist. It featured chart-topping singles such as “My Prerogative” and “Every Little Step”, both of which became hit tracks in the late ‘80s R&B scene. “Don’t Be Cruel” not only established Bobby as one of the most popular rappers of the music industry but also earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

Following this success, Bobby continued to dominate the charts with his third album “Bobby”, released in 1992; it showcased his versatility by incorporating various musical styles, including R&B, hip-hop and new jack swing, with tracks such as “Humpin’ Around” and “Good Enough” further solidifying Bobby’s reputation as an innovative artist.

However, despite his musical achievements, Bobby’s personal life began to overshadow his career; his marriage to pop icon Whitney Houston attracted intense media scrutiny, and both artists faced public challenges, including issues with substance abuse. These personal struggles affected Bobby’s career, leading to a decline in his musical output during the mid-1990s.

In 1997, Bobby released his fourth studio album “Forever”, and while it featured collaborations with prominent artists such as Nas and Jay-Z, it failed to achieve the commercial success of his earlier works.

Despite the challenges, Bobby continued to release music and tour in the following years; his fifth and most recent studio album “Masterpiece” came out in 2012, and while it didn’t achieve widespread commercial success, it demonstrated Bobby’s resilience and determination to stay relevant in the music industry.

He performed at the Valentine’s Day Music Festival alongside El DeBarge, Avant and Keith Sweat on 14 February 2017.

Bobby’s also an actor; he made his debut in the 1989 supernatural comedy movie “Ghostbusters II” and then went on to appear in the 1990 musical movie “Mother Goose Rock ‘n’ Rhyme”, the 1995 movie “Panther” and the 1996 romantic comedy film “A Thin Line Between Love and Hate”. In 2005, he began starring in his own reality show “Being Bobby Brown”, and since May 2022, Bobby’s been starring in his new reality show “Bobby Brown: Every Little Step”.

Who is Estelle’s mother Alicia?

American music producer Alicia Etheredge was born under the zodiac sign Sagittarius on 21 December 1973 in Culver City, California USA; despite her work in the music industry, Alicia’s probably known best for being the wife of Bobby Brown.

She was raised in Culver City alongside her brother Justin and sister Kim, by their parents whom Alicia prefers to keep away from media; her brother Justin’s today working in the film industry, and her sister Kim’s a co-founder of Mixed Chicks, a hair product line. Alicia studied at a local high school in Culver City and upon matriculating in 1992, enrolled at Howard University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1996.

It was in 2008 that Alicia began working on Bobby’s management team, having previously worked for numerous celebrities, such as American singer Macy Gray and American professional basketball player Magic Johnson.

It’s widely believed that Alicia and Bobby met for the first time as teenagers and became close friends; she attended Bobby and Whitney Houston’s wedding in 1992. After they divorced in 2007, Alicia began dating Bobby a year later; she gave birth to their son Cassius in 2009, and they exchanged vows in Hawaii in 2012. Alicia went on to give birth to their first daughter Bodhi Jameson Rain Brown on 9 July 2015.

Alicia was arrested for driving under the influence on 9 February 2006.
