On January 1, 1956, Machogu was born in Nyaribari Masaba, Kisii County, Kenya, and raised there as well. In 1970, Machogu joined in Nduru High School, where he completed his O-level coursework. After that, he attended Agoro Sare High School to complete his A-levels. From there, he enrolled in the University of Nairobi, where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in business administration.
Professional life and Career
Soon after earning his degree, he was employed by former President Daniel Moi’s administration as a District Officer (D0). In 1989, Ezekiel received a promotion to District Commissioner (DC), a role he retained until 2008. 2008 saw him begin employment with the Public Service Commission (PSC) as a Senior Deputy Secretary. In 2017, Machogu participated in the National Agenda Party of Kenya (NAPK) parliamentary election in the Nyaribari Masaba constituency. During his tenure in the 12th Parliament, he was a member of the Services and Facilities and Regional Integration Committees. On August 9, he entered the race for Kisii governor on the banner of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), but ODM’s Simba Arati defeated him.
At Kisumu Girls High School on Monday, September 19, during the opening of the 94th Kenya Music Festival, Magoha declared that the curriculum was the answer to the nation’s unemployment problem. The CS claimed that CBC lets students apply their skills rather than requiring them to study in order to pass exams and continue with university courses.
