James Harden has delivered a remarkable speech in which he strongly criticized Philadelphia 76ers‘ general manager, Daryl Morey.
The NBA star openly labeled Morey as a ‘liar’ and explicitly expressed his desire to part ways with the team in the upcoming off-season.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of,” Harden noted.
“Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.”
Following the end of the 2022/23 NBA Playoffs, reports widely circulated suggesting that Harden was likely to depart from the Sixers during the off-season.
Interestingly, even though the Sixers experienced a lackluster season, Harden’s name popped up as a potential contender for rejoining the Rockets.
The Sixers lost o Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, marking yet another year without securing an NBA championship despite a strong regular season performance.
Although there were indications that Harden had sought a trade, ESPN has reported that he will remain with the Sixers for the impending off-season, as no mutual agreement was reached regarding a potential trade deal.
Preseason training for NBA teams is not scheduled to resume until late September, a timeline that aligns with Harden‘s intention to find a new team before this date.
