Google Classroom allows the teachers or tutors to create as many classes as possible. With that, the teachers can give assignments, grades, and feedback to the students. When you feel like having too many classes, you can archive or delete the Google classroom. Once you archive the class, it will be placed in a separate area to preserve the class materials, student work, and posts. So you can’t find the class with the active classes on the classes page. Further, the teachers and students can view the class and need to restore it to use the class again. But remember, the co-teachers can archive the Google classrooms, and only the primary teacher can delete a Google classroom.

What Happens When you Archive a Class?

  • Archived classes won’t be available in the active class section.
  • Students can’t unenroll from the archived class.
  • Both the teachers and students can see the archived classes but, in order to use it, you have to restore them.
  • Anyone from the class can access all the attachments, files, and class materials from Google Drive.

Note: You can also use Best Google Drive Alternatives like OneDrive and Dropbox.
