David Potts was crowned the 2024 winner of Celebrity Big Brother during Friday night’s hotly-anticipated grand final.

David was left overwhelmed when hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best announced his name.

After Nikita left the house, David said to himself: ‘I feel shocked and on top of the world. I cannot believe it. I feel slay, get me on that runway’

David was cheered by the crowd as he made an energetic exit from the iconic house. He then told AJ and Will ‘Slay! I really did not expect this at all, thank you so much’

Speaking to hosts AJ and Will during his first interview on Late and Live, he said: ‘This is just me, what you see is what you get. Loud, long legs, here to slay!

David also spoke on Sharon Osbourne putting him in the ‘danger zone’ on the first night: ‘That didn’t surprise me, I get pre judged a lot on first impression.’

Discussing his friendships in the house, David said: ‘I like people, especially people who have the same energy as me, like Bradley for example, I gravitate towards them. ‘Me and Bradley have the same sense of humour, he’s just a great guy.

‘I’ve never really been one of the lads, but when I got really close with Nikita and Colson, I was like, ‘not me being one of the lads.’ I love it, I’m so versatile these days.’

On Bradley’s shock exit during Thursday’s show, David added: ‘I was devo, I genuinely thought he would be in the final. I thought everyone would love him as much as I do.’

At the end of the interview, David summarised his experience as an ‘absolute slay’.

He added: ‘We are strangers at the beginning and I delved right in. So I’ve learned to have a bit more trust in people, let my guard down. Other than that keep slaying.’

Earlier on in the night, it was revealed that Coronation Street star Colson – who plays Craig Tinker on the ITV1 soap opera – had landed in third place and felt ‘so lucky’ to have got so far in the game.

He said: ‘It’s amazing, I feel so lucky to have been on the show. I never thought I’d have the podium finish but I’m absolutely delighted.’

Prior to that, former X Factor judge Louis Walsh had emerged in fourth place overall and admitted that he had had some ‘tough’ nights on the show and was ‘glad’ to be out.

‘I am so glad to be out, we had a brilliant time, but it is scary! I really wanted to go a few times, it really is tough at nighttime, during the day is okay’.

The first of the five finalists to be evicted was This Morning legend Fern Britton – who exited the house to cheers from the crowd whilst Jennifer Lopez track ‘Let’s Get Loud’ played – and noted that even though it had been a ‘fantastic experience’, she was pleased to finally be out.

She said: ‘It’s marvellous, it’s been a fantastic ride and I’m so happy to be out!’

After almost three weeks of nominations, tears and drama, the iconic reality show has come to an end, with the final batch of housemates bidding farewell to the home for good.

To celebrate their last night as a group, Big Brother set up a fancy dinner in the living room.

In scenes during Friday’s show, the housemates gathered around the table for one last time as they reflected on their experiences.

David thanked Big Brother and his fellow housemates for letting him be himself.

The Ibiza Weekender, 30, said: ‘I genuinely did not think I would be in a house with 12 people who I actually genuinely really, really like.

‘Thank you for letting me be me, I love you all. ‘

Nikita admitted that he didn’t expect people in the house to be so fun and is happy that people like him for who he is.

The professional dancer, 26, said: ‘I didn’t expect to actually meet such fun people.

‘I said to myself one thing is that I’m going to just be Nikita the way my mom would be proud of me and it’s very reassuring that people just liked me for me.’

Music manager Louis, 71, added: ‘So here we are, the fab five… I came in here not knowing what to expect, but wow, it’s been a learning experience for me.

‘You’ve been amazing to me, I appreciate it. We’re all winners as far as I’m concerned.’

Coronation Street star, Colson, 25, known for his role on the cobbles as Craig Tinker, said: ‘…the experience isn’t anything without the people and the housemates.

‘This experience has kind of taught me to back myself, be kind to myself and be confident and be me…’

TV presenter, Fern, 66, quipped: ‘the most gracious, talented men I have ever known, and I want to thank you for the kindness you have shown me as the last woman standing.

‘So, all that’s left to say is, may the best man win.’

The housemates spent the rest of the evening dancing and singing before peeling off to reflect in the diary room.

Louis told Big Brother, ‘We have had the time of our life in the Big Brother house… I was a bit wacky, a bit funny and had an opinion on everybody. I will never forget it.’

Reflecting on her time in the house, Fern said: ‘I wanted to come and have a television adventure and I’ve had it… It’s injected me with enthusiasm for television again… it was just this reminder of a familiar place, and probably how much I’ve missed.’

David noted, ‘It’s been a crazy ride, but don’t forget… Big Brother… slay. Slay every day.’

Thursday night saw Bradley Riches became the latest star to be booted out on Thursday, following Zeze Millz, Marisha Wallace, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Levi Roots, Lauren Simon and Gary Goldsmith.

While Sharon Osbourne also departed the house after serving eight days as the first Celebrity Big Brother lodger.

The final saw the evicted housemates return – but Ekin-Su, Gary and Sharon were noticeably missing from the line-up.

As the hotly-anticipated final kicked off, hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best revealed the evicted housemates were back for the show.

However, when the camera panned to the group of celebs, only Levi Roots, Lauren Simon, Marisha Wallace, Zeze Millz and Bradley Riches appeared on screen – meaning three former housemates were absent.

Ekin-Su was withdrawn from appearing on the show, while Gary pulled out just hours before the final aired.

The Love Island star endured a turbulent spell on the ITV1 show before being voted out last Friday, becoming the fourth housemate to leave.

But her subsequent treatment post-elimination, which saw her embroiled in a bullying row on CBB spin-off show Late & Live before being wrongly accused of pulling out of an appearance on Lorraine, has sparked her management’s decision to exclude her from Friday night’s showpiece.

A source told MailOnline: ‘It’s been a bit of a tough couple of weeks for Ekin-Su.

‘She could have played the sob story card but has remained tight-lipped publicly and expressed to those around that she’s aware she must be accountable for a few things that have happened.

‘Understandably she is feeling vulnerable, but is using this time to gather her thoughts, and figure out next steps, which is why her management believes withdrawing her from the final is the most sensible move.

‘She has asked the team for some time to reflect which everybody is on board with.’

An ITV source added: ‘Ekin has been a part of some of ITV’s biggest shows over the last two years, including Love Island, Dancing on Ice, her own spin off show with Davide, and now Celebrity Big Brother.

‘As such a lot of the team there feel very protective towards her, and it’s a real shame she won’t be at the final.’

Elsewhere, Kate Middleton ‘s uncle Gary pulled out of the Celebrity Big Brother final following her shock cancer announcement.

The Princess of Wales announced on Friday that she has been diagnosed with cancer aged 42 and is undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy.

In a deeply emotional video message, filmed at Windsor on Wednesday, Catherine revealed the news had come as a ‘huge shock’ and that she and William ‘have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’.

Following the shocking news, Kate’s uncle Gary revealed in a social media statement that he is no longer attending the live final on Friday, where he was set to be reunited with his housemates and show hosts AJ Adudu and Will Best.

Gary shared royal insight while in the Big Brother house which was said to have ‘infuriated’ his family as Kate Middleton recovers from abdominal surgery.

The millionaire businessman was the first housemate to be evicted from the ITV revival series of Celebrity Big Brother.
