As Dean McDermott deals with his public divorce from Tori Spelling, his oldest son isn’t in a rush to reconnect.
Jack McDermott, 25, told Us Weekly the pair are currently estranged – and given they’re each in ‘a really great place’ in their lives, a reconciliation doesn’t seem necessary at the moment.
‘Never say never, but I think that we’re just in a really great place, both of us,’ he said.
‘So, I just don’t think in the foreseeable future [a reconciliation is] anything that I want,’ added Jack. ‘It’s not on the top of my list of priorities.’
In response to Spelling, 50, filing for divorce last month, Jack told Us on Thursday, ‘All I have to say is I wish the kids well.’

Dean and Spelling share Liam Aaron, 17, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11, and 7-year-old Beau Dean.
‘I know Tori’s probably going to be having to do a majority of the parenting now, so I just hope she’s the best mother that she can be.
‘And those kids deserve the world, so I hope that she can give it to them,’ added Jack.
After his infidelity and a series of marital woes, McDermott announced their separation on Instagram in June 2023. He deleted the post shortly after.
Jack said he’s ‘not surprised’ by the divorce, noting: ‘I lived with them for a year.’
His mother Mary Jo Eustace publicly called out Spelling after the actress told Dean during a call on her misSPELLING podcast that she’d just officially filed for divorce following 18 years of marriage.
‘Desperate much? It’s just low, low, low,’ Eustace, 61, told Page Six. ‘It’s just not how you conduct things.’
Dean was married to Eustace from 1993 to 2006, when the pair divorced after he had an affair with Spelling. They married shortly after.
Jack previously spoke out against his mother in late 2022, when her and Dean’s podcast Exes and Uh-Ohs fell apart after two episodes and she continued recording without him.

‘For 17 years my father has atoned for mistakes he’s made in the past,’ he wrote at the time. ‘He has grown so much as a person. Up until a week ago, our two families [were] living in harmony.
‘With this podcast, it has driven a wedge between our two families and created a divide I am not capable of mending. Sadly, I’m not sure it can be,’ added Jack.
Jack added to his mom, ‘I ask that you please respect me, and my blended family. Please avoid creating any additional strain on our family dynamic.’
‘These past few years have been nothing but peace and happiness, and I ask that we continue to try and keep it that way,’ he concluded.
