The exclusive broadcaster of Monday Night Football, is known for constantly seeking ways to enhance the production. Although Robert Griffin III was initially brought in for this purpose, ESPN is now reconsidering its decision following Jason Kelce‘s retirement.

According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN is actively pursuing Kelce to join their MNF broadcast. However, they are facing competition from other networks such as NBC, CBS, and Amazon Prime, all vying for Kelce’s services.

Eagles’ new star looks to convince Jason Kelce to play one more season in the NFLTwitter

Over the years, Monday Night Football has undergone numerous changes as ESPN strives to find the perfect combination. Scott Van Pelt now leads the Monday Night Countdown coverage, and the commentary team was revamped with the addition of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. As the 2024 season approaches, some familiar faces will remain, including SVP, Marcus Spears, Ryan Clark, and Michelle Beisner-Buck.

Robert Griffin III was once seen as a rising star at ESPN, but his momentum has recently stalled, prompting the network to consider a change. If Kelce is brought on board, he would likely fill Griffin’s role and emerge as a prominent voice on Monday Night Football.

ESPN considers shake-up for MNF coverage

Kelce’s retirement from his 13-year NFL career has sparked interest from ESPN and other networks. His impressive record includes seven Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro honors, and a Super Bowl victory with the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce started in 193 games for the Eagles and did not miss a single game from 2015 onwards.

While Kelce may not possess the same quarterback intellect as Griffin, he brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience to the table. From the fundamentals to the intricacies of the game, Kelce has accumulated a wealth of insight over his two-decade-long career. His deep-rooted passion for the sport is evident in his dedication and commitment.

ESPN is not only seeking someone with football expertise but also a compelling presence on air. Kelce’s combination of knowledge and charisma makes him an appealing candidate for the MNF broadcast team.

In the words of an ESPN representative: “Jason Kelce’s on-field accomplishments speak for themselves, but it’s his deep understanding of the game and natural charisma that make him an ideal fit for our Monday Night Football broadcast.”
