Simone Biles has finally announced her desire to compete for the United States at the 2024 Olympic Games, scheduled to be hosted in Paris.
Biles is the most successful artistic gymnast in history, winning four Olympic gold medals and 19 golds at the World Championships, but she had been inactive for the previous two years until early August 2023.

She marked her return at the US Classic in Illinois and it would take her just 22 days to claim her first silverware as she won her eighth national title in California.
Biles was asked following the contest if she was willing to compete in Paris, but didn’t answer then and requested more time to make her decision known.

Now, this Thursday, she has communicated her intention to compete. If she is selected then Paris 2024 would represent the third Olympic Games for the 26-year-old athlete.
“I wouldn’t mind if you put it on yes,” Biles said to NBC when asked if someone should bet on her going.
“Right now, I’d say that’s the path I’d love to go.”

Biles made her debut on the USA’s team in 2012 and began to find immediate success, finishing second in the 2013 American Cup.
From there it did not take her long to make an impression in the World Championships, winning two golds for all-around and floor exercises in the 2013 edition.
She would then go on to claim a further 17 gold medals in the World Championships, alongside three silvers and three bronzes for a career-haul of 25.
Her Olympic debut came in Rio 2016, where she would claim four more gold medals and a bronze, taking the top prize in the teams, all-around, vault and floor exercise.
However, she would experience a tough Tokyo 2020, despite claiming two more medals. Biles had to withdraw after she lost sync with her body, called yips.
Despite her disappointing previous outing, Biles holds so many records and has just won her eighth US Gymnastics title.
