On Thursday, officers were observed on aerial footage detaining Mr Teixeira at his family’s residence in Dighton, a town with a population of 8,000 located approximately an hour south of Boston.
Jack Teixeira, who belongs to the Massachusetts Air National Guard, has been identified as the ringleader of the Discord group responsible for the recent leak of over 100 classified documents.
The group, named “Thug Shaker Central,” operates on the popular chat app for gamers.
Among the group members, one individual leaked multiple classified documents that revealed sensitive U.S. intelligence regarding the conflict in Ukraine and other military operations.
