Vinicius Junior has no interest in leaving Real Madrid this summer, reports in Spain claim, despite Kylian Mbappe’s impending arrival.

The Brazilian grabbed two assists in Tuesday night’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League, which saw the 14-time winners level proceedings late on through Federico Valverde’s sublime volley.

Madrid will almost certainly add Mbappe to their ranks this summer on a free transfer, ending a six-year stay at PSG that first looked likely to end in 2022, and Vinicius’ long-term future at the Bernabeu has been questioned as a result.

It’s not yet clear what position Mbappe will play for Madrid once he arrives but logic would suggest that he’ll slot in as Karim Benzema’s successor up front. Carlo Ancelotti has altered his tactics this season to cover Benzema’s surprise exit last year, using Vinicius and Rodrygo as a makeshift forward duo with Jude Bellingham tucked in behind.

Vinicius has been linked a blockbuster €200m move to PSG – essentially replacing Mbappe – while he’s also been tipped to be on Liverpool’s radar as they consider potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, who is wanted in the Saudi Pro League.

But MARCA report that Vinicius, his representatives and Real Madrid themselves have no interest in facilitating an exit this summer, with the player understood to be extremely happy in the Spanish capital.

The 23-year-old is said to love everyday life in Madrid because he feels ‘respected’ and ‘loved’ by all those at the club, and feels that staying put would be the best career decision. Vinicius also signed a new long-term contract in October, signifying his commitment to the club and vice-versa.

Adding further weight to the idea of wanting to stay, Vinicius has spoken previously about his and the desire of his Real Madrid teammates to play alongside Mbappe, saying: “Everyone here wants to play with Kylian. I hope it happens one day. He is one of the best players, maybe the best.”

Vinicius has contributed 18 goals in all competitions this season, including 12 in La Liga, and will have a crucial role to play as Madrid look to not only secure the league title back from Barcelona but also regain their status as champions of Europe.
