Kjell Brutscheidt
The German actor Kjell Brutscheidt was born on 23rd April 1996, in Dusseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, and is known for his performances in “Spreewaldkrimi”, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”, and “Ich bin Sophie Scholl”.
The thespian perfected his craft at the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich, and appeared in a number of stage productions in Berlin and Munich, performing at prestigious venues such as the Opernhaus Zurich and Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf.

Career
In the 2019/20 season, Kjell was part of the Theater Bielefeld’s first interdisciplinary studio. The following year, the actor debuted in front of cameras with two projects: “Spreewaldkrimi” and the popular Instagram series “I am Sophie Scholl”.
2022 saw Kjell explore a variety of genres, from crime shows (“Police Call 110”, “Zeit der Abrechnung”) to historical movies (“Der junge Hauptling Winnetou”). The German also guest-starred in episodes of “In aller Freundschaft”, “Sarah Kohr”, and “Morden im Norden”.
In 2022, he landed his biggest role to date with his casting as Tanner in “The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”, which is the fifth movie in the “Hunger Games” franchise, but serves as the prequel. The dystopian action movie, which was filmed with an extravagant $100 million budget, has a November 2023 theatrical release date in the US, and is on track to earn $50 million in its opening weekend.
Personal Life
Although Kjell has less than two thousand Instagram followers at the time of writing, this is likely to change when “A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” premieres in cinemas. The actor is known to engage with his fans by replying to their comments, and enjoys sharing glimpses of his day-to-day life, be it a night out with friends or an important industry event.
Kjell’s distinctive physical appearance has been a topic of discussion recently, as the “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” cast attended the world premiere of the movie in early November 2023. The actor appears to have some sort of eye condition, as he is unable to open his left eye; however, he’s never discussed the subject in interviews or via social media, but may well share the story behind his eye in the future.
In the upcoming movie, Kjell will be playing a Hunger Games tribute from District 10, but as he isn’t part of the main cast, it’s unlikely that he’ll have much screentime.

English actor Tom Blyth plays a young Corionalus Snow, the villainous future president of Panem and the movie’s lead character. Born in Birmingham, England, on 2nd February 1995, Tom is the son of producer Gavin Blyth – who passed away in 2010 and is remembered for his work in the soap operas “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale” – and studied at Bilborough College.
Charlotte, Tom’s mother, signed him up for drama classes at the Television Workshop when he was an adolescent, which helped her son discover his talent for the creative arts. He then studied at the National Youth Theatre and trained at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, graduating in 2020.
Tom’s first credited roles were in the 2010 movies “Pelican Blood” and “Robin Hood”. Throughout the mid-2010s, he appeared in a series of shorts – “Fibs”, “Fluffy”, and “Wash Club” – before landing his biggest project yet, a starring role in the 2018 young adult movie “Scott and Sid”. During a promotional interview for the fifth installment of the “Hunger Games” franchise, Tom shared that the first four films had been influential in his life, and that the newest movie contains plenty of social and political commentary geared towards its young adult audience. ‘Yes, we’re making a piece of great entertainment, but it has some meaning to it,’ he said.
Co-Stars: Rachel Zegler
The American singer and actress Rachel Zegler was born on 3rd May 2001, in Hackensaw, New Jersey, and rose to prominence playing Maria in the 2021 version of “West Side Story”, which won her a Golden Globe in the Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical category. Rachel’s Golden Globe triumph was a historical one, as she was the youngest winner in that category at just 20 years old, as well as the first actress of Colombian descent.
Rachel, who has one older sister, is of Colombian and Polish descent and studied at Immaculate Conception High School. Before matriculating, the brunette had already starred in various musicals, such as “The Little Mermaid”, “42nd Street”, and “Beauty and the Beast”. Although a few years would pass until her breakthrough project, the actress’s bright future in showbiz was already evident, as all three performances earned her separate Metro Award nominations for Actress in a Leading Role.
The actress has also been active on YouTube since July 2015, and one of her latest singing videos has racked up over 12 million views on Twitter alone.
As for her dating life, Rachel has been in a relationship with her “West Side Story” co-star Josh Andres Rivera since 2020, although it would take them a few months to share the news with fans.
As Rachel’s career goes from strength to strength, Josh has been a constant presence at her side. During a National Board of Review acceptance speech in March 2022, the starlet said of Josh: ‘Thank you for holding my hand in my dreams and in my reality. I love doing life with you. Thanks for making me laugh.’
The magnetic couple also star together in “Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”. Rachel plays Lucy Gray Baird, the female protagonist, whereas Josh portrays mentor Sejanus Plinth. However, Rachel’s on-screen love interest is played by Tom Blythe.
