The 2023/24 NFL Preseason is set to kick off on Thursday, August 10, with the upcoming season beginning on Thursday, September 8.

Prior to these games, the traditional Hall of Fame game will take place between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, August 3, in Canton, Ohio.

Season begins soon

The journey towards Super Bowl XLVIII is set to begin, with the champions Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Detroit Lions in the opening game. The Super Bowl itself will be played in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 11, 2024.

As the new NFL season approaches, it’s time to discuss the league’s most crucial position – the quarterbacks. According to a vote conducted by experts from The Sporting News, we will soon release the rankings of the best and worst starting quarterbacks for the upcoming campaign, focusing on those projected to be starters.

It’s important to note that the rankings will not include Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, and CJ Stroud – three rookie quarterbacks who are likely starters – as well as Sam Howell, who had limited playtime in his rookie year.

A fiercely contested top 3

Josh Allen showcases his dominance both in the air (eighth in yards per game) and on the ground (seven touchdowns and 47.6 yards per game).

In 2022, Joe Burrow had the eighth-best rating in the league and the second-best pass completion percentage. He was ranked second in touchdowns (35), and fourth in yards per game (279.7), establishing himself as a superstar.

However, the top spot is reserved for Patrick Mahomes, who is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in history.

In 2022, he demonstrated his dominance, leading the NFL in yards, touchdowns, yards per game, and QBR, earning the MVP of the Regular Phase. Despite facing challenges, Mahomes secured a new Super Bowl ring for the Kansas City Chiefs, solidifying his position at the pinnacle of the rankings.

While the analysis and voting are sound, only time and the regular season will truly determine the accuracy of this ranking.
