The Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark are refusing to quit on their national championship dream as they dumped the LSU Tigers out of the Elite Eight in March Madness to progress to the Final Four, leaving them 48 minutes away from a second successive appearance in the title match, and everyone is impressed.

Clark‘s 40 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds aren’t even surprising statistics these days, they’re only slightly above her averages but that’s the incredible standards that the NCAA record points scorer has set for herself.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese’s final interaction that everyone was waiting to see

It’s her final attempt to win the championship after she was defeated by Angel Reese in 2023, that’s because she’s going straight to the WNBA for 2024 after announcing her intention to enter this year’s draft, and she’s playing like she knows it’s her last shot.

The resulting form has left packed out arenas and some of the biggest names in sports turning on the television sets to watch her continue to blow teams away, with players such as Caleb Williams, Chris Jones and Deebo Samuel all singing her praises.

Taking to X.com, known as Twitter before Elon Musk‘s 2022 acquisition, the NFL stars all were stunned at what they were watching.

Samuels said, “Bruhhhh Caitlyn Clark [sic] can’t be guarded !!!!!!”

Whilst Williams similarly added, “She just pulled from the logo…”

Before Jones declared, “The women’s basketball games are more exciting than the men.”

Even those involved in her sport were hyping her up as Patrick Beverley said, “She the real deal,” before Josh Hart continued the plaudits with, “Caitlin Clark the truth.”

Clark’s full of motivation

With her status as the overall pick one in the 2024 WNBA Draft essentially guaranteed, and a $5m offer on the table from Ice Cube‘s basketball league, many athletes might have downed tools a bit as they knew their career was safe anyway.

But not Clark. She is hungry for that ring.

“I think that just speaks to the confidence I have in myself,” Clark said of her lethal shooting standards. “The time I put in the gym. I know I’m ready for this moment. I thought my shot felt good in warmups.

It certainly helps when you make your first three-pointer as a shooter, when you can see the ball go in.”

She added: “To get back here [regional champs] is really hard. This region was loaded with so much talent,” Clark said. “Job’s not finished.”

The Hawkeyes will play the UConn Huskies at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland on Friday, April 5 with the game scheduled to begin at 21:30 EST.
