The Milwaukee Brewers are facing the Miami Marlins on Friday with an outstanding second inning where they scored 12 runs at the LoanDepot Park in Miami. The Marlins were able to score a run before the game was over, but they still lost by a whopping 16-1 scoreline.
It all began with Josh Donaldson homering in the second inning
The Brewers are already securing their position as undisputed leaders of the Central Division in the National League as they managed to get their entire offense to bat at least once, the team that Craig Counsell presides is giving a show for the fans.
Josh Donaldson and Christian Yelich were able to homer with men on base, meanwhile, the Marlins wanted to stop the onslaught by changing pitchers, however, the Brewers connected to different pitchers, Donaldson against Steven Okert and Yelich against Bryan Hoening. The nine-hit blitz ended up in a dozen-run lead against Miami.
While Marlin’s defense seemed to have more holes than gruyere cheese, a fistful of errors ended up crafting a difficult scenario to come back from, the Brewer’s offense was also able to produce extra-base hits and doubles that laid the groundwork to score a record of 12 runs in an inning.
This put the Brewers in a very comfortable position where all they have to do is prevent the Marlins from scoring. Which is almost what happened, after all, with Miami narrowly avoiding a complete shut-out (16-1).
Even the Brewers were surprised at the score
The Brewers official social media accounts posted: “What is happening rn???”. In total shock of the hurt their team laid on the South Florida team.
Incidentally, the aggressive rally will be the icing on the cake for tonight’s victory at LoanDepot Park. With that, Milwaukee will be able to celebrate being the National League Central Division champion.
