The Miami Dolphins have etched their name in NFL history books with a performance that will be talked about for years to come.

Tua Tagovailoa, the now early MVP candidate, orchestrated an offensive spectacle that left fans and experts alike in awe, as the Dolphins scored a franchise-record 70 points in a dominant victory over the Denver Broncos, solidifying their 3-0 start to the season.

Racking up an astonishing 726 yards, Miami’s offense was unstoppable, delivering 70 points in a resounding 70-20 triumph over the Broncos-a scoreline not seen in the NFL in 57 years.

Tua, early MVP favorite

Tua Tagovailoa, the leader behind the offensive masterclass, became the first quarterback since 1991 to complete 15-plus passes without an incompletion and throw for over 200 yards by halftime.

When the final whistle blew, Tagovailoa finished the day with 23 of 26 passes for 309 yards, four touchdowns, and no interception, earning an incredible 155.8 passer rating.

It is also important to note that Tua completed his first 17 passes in the first quarter, coming within one shy of a longstanding NFL record.

Tagovailoa’s MVP candidacy is gaining momentum for several reasons. His ability to process information swiftly in a fast-paced system has been stellar. With an average time in the pocket of just 2.1 seconds, he’s second only to Trevor Lawrence, keeping himself well-protected with only one sack conceded in three games.

His accuracy is another standout quality, as he ranks among the league’s best in “big time throws,” showcasing exceptional location on tight-window passes.

Dolphins offense dives into history

The first half of the game was nothing short of perfection for Miami’s offense, as they scored touchdowns on five of six possessions, amassing 35 points at halftime, tied for the second-most in team history.

Another record broken by Miami on Sunday was most yards gained in a game with 726. The previous record was a 722-yard performance by the Los Angeles Rams72 years ago.

Rookie sensation De’Von Achane seized his opportunity to shine on Sunday, rushing for 203 yards and two touchdowns while adding two receiving touchdowns.

Raheem Mostert was also a stellar contributor who continued his impressive form with four touchdowns on 142 total yards, including a spectacular 67-yarder.

Not to be forgotten, Tyreek Hill rounded up the offensive standouts, hauling in nine passes for 157 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown.

And as a last note, the Dolphins ended the game with another NFL by being the only team in history to score five rushing touchdowns and five passing touchdowns in a single game.

With a historic 70-point game now added to their resume, the Dolphins are setting their sights on a successful season out of the AFC East.

The victory continues the Dolphins’ dominance atop their division at 3-0 and sets the stage for a thrilling showdown against the 2-1 Bills next Sunday in Buffalo.
