Caitlin Clark‘s superstardom is about to hit another level. April is the most important month in the Iowa Hawkeyes point guard’s life — in less than two weeks, she will be drafted #1 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. But in the meantime, Clark is attempting to lead Iowa to its first-ever national championship before she says “goodbye” to the NCAA, and she dragged the Hawkeyes back to the Final Four on Monday night in a hard-fought win over the reigning champion LSU Tigers.

But when Clark’s college career ends, the WNBA — and the NBA — has plans for her, and they are already beginning to take shape. One report Tuesday claimed that the Association is ready to involve Clark in next season’s All-Star Weekend, following the success of this season’s 3-point shootout between New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and the Golden State WarriorsStephen Curry.

Clark to take on a Splash Brother?

NBA insider Shams Charania has reported that Clark is being eyed to participate in a two-on-two 3-point contest at Chase Center, where her teammate would be…Klay Thompson, Curry‘s longtime running mate with the Warriors. Including Clark — who has yet to step on a WNBA floor — in All-Star Weekend festivities as a rookie would surely spark debate, but the NBA understands that Clark is a huge draw, with NCAA Women’s Tournament ratings this year shattering previous records as fans tune in to see what the 22-year-old does next.

Thompson‘s future in San Francisco is up in the air, and he could leave the Warriors — the only team for which he has played — as a free agent this summer. However, his legacy with Golden State is so significant that it stands to reason there would be few issues in pairing him with Clark against Curry and Ionescu — once adversaries, but soon to be partners-in-crime, if Charania‘s report is to be believed.

Clark’s celebrity grows after LSU win

The NBA — and every other basketball-adjacent organization — wants a piece of Clark as the start of her pro career looms. Clark on Monday dropped a “signature” game in the national final rematch with LSU, scoring 41 points and providing 12 assists in the 94-87 victory that showcased practically all her strengths on the court.

Clark made nine 3-pointers — tying a tournament record — and worked around early turnovers to help the Hawkeyes into an insurmountable lead in the third quarter. The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer has garnered more and more comparisons to Curry — the NBA’s all-time leading 3-point shooter — for her range from deep, and the entertainment value she provides as a fiery competitor.
