A flight carrying the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers made an emergency landing in Kansas City on early Monday morning, in which no one was injured.
According to Pittsburgh media, the plane made an emergency landing due to a malfunction.
“Everyone on the plane is safe and we are making plans to return to Pittsburgh later Monday,” team spokesman Burt Lauten said in a social media post.
The Steelers were on their way back to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after Sunday’s 18-23 win over the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
Cam Heyward took the incident in his stride, saying on social media that the emergency landing was due to heavy pressure from teammates on Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
Heyward joked about Kansas City Chiefs key player Travis Kelce and his alleged relationship with singer Taylor Swift, who was at Arrowhead last night for the reigning Super Bowl champions’ game.
“Hey, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, we might need a ride back to Pittsburgh,” he posted on his social media.
Another plane is scheduled to arrive in Kansas City to pick up the 182 passengers and take them back to Pittsburgh, where they will enjoy a day off given to them by coach Mike Tomlin.
