Armed officers rushed to a property in Hemsworth last night (Friday) after a man suffered ‘serious cut injuries’.

Police received a report from Yorkshire Ambulance Service at 6.35pm yesterday (March 22) that someone had suffered serious cut injuries in an incident in Southmoor Road.

Armed officers were deployed to the area and found a man at a property with a serious leg wound, which appeared to be consistent with what had been reported. He was taken to hospital for further treatment where he remains in a stable condition, police say.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in custody at this time. In a statement, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “At 6.35pm yesterday (Friday), police received a report from the ambulance service that someone had suffered serious cut injuries in an incident in Southmoor Road, Hemsworth.

“Armed officers were deployed to the area and found a man at a property with a serious leg wound, which appeared to be consistent with what had been reported. He was taken to hospital for further treatment and is said to be in a stable condition today.”
