The 2023 season has come to an abrupt end for the Miami Dolphins, and Chiefs fans are not holding back in their comments on wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City crew spoiled Hill’s homecoming in a decisive 26-7 victory during the AFC Wild Card round at the frosty Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes made Hill eat his words

This loss has Chiefs fans recalling Hill’s recent praise for Tua Tagovailoa, declaring him the most accurate quarterback in the league.

After the defeat, one fan took to X, suggesting, “Tyreek Hill might want to take back his comments about Tua being the most accurate passer in the league. Mahomes has thrown for 262 in -4 degree weather.”

Another fan humorously remarked, “Tyreek Hill is having it rough; he just wants to go back to his home in Florida. Oh wait, it’s burned down.”

Despite the freezing conditions, Patrick Mahomes made Hill eat his words.

Mahomes outperformed Tagovailoa with a 56.1% completion rate compared to Tagovailoa’s 51.3%.

The Chiefs’ well-balanced offense, with 146 rushing yards and a touchdown, contrasted sharply with the Dolphins’ struggles, managing only 76 rushing yards and a lackluster 4.5 yards per play.

The Dolphins’ season, once promising with a 70-point outburst against the Broncos, took a downturn, losing the chance to host a Wild Card Round game by falling to the Ravens and Bills.

In a disappointing end to the season, the Dolphins generated only seven points against the Chiefs despite the talents of Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, and Raheem Mostert in their offense.

Tyreek Hill, who led the league in receiving yards and catching touchdowns, capped off his season with five receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, yet another playoff defeat.

Hill praised Chiefs’ defense in Wild Card game

In a post-game interview, Tyreek Hill attributed the Dolphins’ loss to the formidable Chiefs defense.

“Their physical corners got their hands on us. Their safeties have the deep help,”Hill remarked, acknowledging the challenges they faced in freezing temperatures that dipped to -5 degrees, with a wind chill in the -20s.

However, Hill also pointed out the Dolphins’ mistakes, emphasizing the need for attention to detail in the playoffs.

“We have to do a good job of being able to beat Cover 2, and small attention to details. Some off-target throws were because the receivers weren’t in the right position,” he admitted.

Hill, confident in the team’s talent, stressed the importance of the offense pulling their weight: “We can’t just be a bunch of front runners.”
