Geri Halliwell has been spotted today attending the Commonwealth Day Service in London – as her husband Christian Horner remains mired in scandal.

The former Spice Girl, 51, smiled at the cameras as she arrived at Westminster Abbey to take her seats among other high-profile guests, including Prince William.

Halliwell recently returned from the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, where she was once again seen at her husband’s side in a highly public show of support.

Horner’s position as Red Bull team principal has been the subject of intense speculation after he was accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by a female employee before the start of the 2024 season.

An investigation cleared Horner, before he hit the headlines again after alleged messages to the complainant were divulged to a number of media outlets and F1 figures.

The woman who accused Horner of coercive behaviour was last week suspended from her role at Red Bull as a direct result of the investigation after being told her evidence was ‘dishonest’.

But in a new development, reported by The Sun, she has appointed new lawyers and is now planning to appeal the verdict that exonerated him.

A source quote by the outlet claimed: ‘Christian and Geri are braced for more fireworks but a thorough investigation has already found in his favour.

‘The woman’s honesty has been called into question and her evidence was shown to be flawed.’

On Sunday, Horner received hundreds of comments from baffled fans after he posted a Mother’s Day message to Halliwell.

Fans claimed the timing of his message was ‘strategic’ amid his ‘sex texts’ scandal and branded him ‘stupid’ for not disabling comments on his Instagram.

He shared photos of his wife to mark Mother’s Day, along with a heartfelt tribute to her in the caption.

He wrote: ‘Happy Mother’s Day – So appreciative of the mums in our family for everything they do. We’re always grateful, today and every day.’

It comes after yet another extraordinary weekend for Red Bull, with the team claiming a second successive 1-2 in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix despite the ongoing scandal.

Max Verstappen claimed his second win in two races in 2024 and his ninth consecutive victory dating back to September.

Leading team-mate Sergio Perez to a Red Bull one-two, it continued the crushing superiority Verstappen has had over the Formula 1 field for nearly two years – but talk quickly turned to the Dutchman’s future.

Horner had been seen arguing with the driver’s father Jos – who wants him to leave – in midweek after the team boss was accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a female member of staff.

Afterwards Horner told Sky Sports: ‘Obviously, a lot is made of this stuff. But we are one team, and nobody is bigger than the team.

‘This team comprises, over the different entities of over 1,400 people, and everybody has a role to play. That’s from the very bottom to the very top and without them achieving you don’t get performances like this.

‘Unfortunately there’s been a lot of speculation this weekend, but once again our focus is on the track.’

His comments came after Dr Helmut Marko insisted he will not be leaving Red Bull as a result of the scandal.

In an extraordinary about-turn in this ludicrous saga, the 80-year-old motorsport adviser said suspension was now ruled out after talks with the energy drinks company’s head of sport, Oliver Mintzlaff, in the Jeddah paddock.

Only a day before Marko had hinted he was through the door, possibly never to return after being accused by the team of leaking evidence over Horner’s behaviour towards a female colleague.
