MONICA CELEBRATES SON RODNEY HILL JR.’S HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

Monica is in full celebration mode as her oldest son, Rodney Hill Jr., graduates high school. The recording artist took to Instagram on Friday (May 26) with praise for her young scholar.

“The next hallway you walk, will be one in a building you own,” Monica wrote to her son. “Your steps have been ordered,” the celebrity mom exclaimed. “Graduation Day,” Monica said of the occasion. “Proud mom,” Monica declared.

Rodney Jr.’s younger sister, Laiyah Brown, also took to Instagram with a celebratory message for her brother. “Today is your day,” the youngster shared. “I can’t believe you’re graduating. I love you forever and ever and ever.”

It was just a few days ago that Monica celebrated her son’s eighteenth birthday by giving him $1,800 for personal use and $18,000 for the business venture of his choosing.

“For your birthday, I’ll give you $1,800 to have fun,” the celebrity mom shared with her son. “And I’m gonna give you $18,000 to invest in yourself and your business,” Monica added. “We’re gonna sit down and map out your business plan how you want it,” the recording artist told her son.

Monica has been quite busy as of late with taking her career to the next level. The singer recently spoke with the press about how her writing process evolved to create her latest project.

“I went back to the idea I had in the beginning, which was just to make music about living life and the things that happen in life,” Monica shared. “We’ve all experienced so much over the last couple of years, and this album is really indicative of the struggle of it, the love of it, the triumph of it, because you know I don’t believe in being the victim,” the celebrity mom shared. “I’m the victor,” she added.

Rodney Jr. is one of two children Monica has with producer Rodney Hill Sr. Laiyah is the singer’s daughter with Shannon Brown.
