Harry Kane dominated the back pages of the German press on Saturday after making a scoring start to his Bundesliga career.
Bayern Munich’s new £100million man scored his side’s second goal in their 4-0 win against Werder Bremen as they made the perfect start to their defence of the German title.
After setting up Leroy Sane’s 4th-minute opener, the England captain opened his account for his new club after 74 minutes when he controlled an Alphonso Davies pass before slotting into the Werder net via a slight deflection.
The former Tottenham man celebrated in a typically understated style, a sight that will surely soon be familiar to followers of the Bundesliga.
Sane scored again in the 90th minute before Mathys Tel, who replaced Kane with five minute to play, sealed a convincing win with a goal in injury-time.

Their report on the Bayern win included a line on how Kane ‘broke a curse’ by scoring in his first league game for his new club, having failed to do so at Tottenham, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester.
It also details how Kane recorded the fifth-fastest assist in Bundesliga history by setting up Sane with just his second touch of the game.
The media reaction could hardly be anymore different from last weekend, when Kane made his first Bayern appearance as a substitute in the 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
The 30-year-old only finalised his move to the German giants on the day of the game and played the final 27 minutes at the Allianz Arena.
He has since explained that he moved to Bayern to ‘fight for titles’, whilst his wife Kate offered a behind the scenes look at the Kane family’s first week in Germany on social media.
Reflecting on his first taste of Bundesliga action, Kane told Sky Sports: ‘It was fantastic. There’s been a lot of talk and build-up to this game. It started well with the goal early on. It was tough.

‘We stayed calm, managed to get the second goal and the boys finished it off the bench. It was the perfect start, I’m looking forward to the next game.’
Kane is set to make his home league debut against Augsburg on Sunday, August 27, and the striker says he can already sense a difference between German football crowds and their English counterparts.
He said: ‘The fans from both sides were incredible the whole game, really different to some of the Premier League atmospheres I’ve experienced.’
