The Forest winger wastes the set-piece trying to get the ball up and over the wall but gets too much on it as the effort sails into the crowd of fans behind the goal.

Forest win a free-kick right on the edge of the box as Origi is pushed to the ground by Romero. The visitor’s have to make this count as Hudson-Odoi takes hold of the ball.

Neco Williams is shattered and Forest make their final change by replacing the Welshman.

On comes Gonzalo Montiel in his place for the final few minutes.

Sels makes another brilliant save to deny Tottenham a fourth goal as Son see’s his shot tipped behind the post.

The Forest keeper has been impressive today but still finds his side three-goals down.

Forest ring another double substitutiion as they go on the hunt for something to change for them.

Off – Danilo, Yates

On – Sangare, Reyna

Danilo is booked for a crunching tackle on Lo Celso on the edge of the box. The Forest player catches the Spurs playmaker high up on the leg and he’s lucky to escape with only a yellow there.

Just what Forest don’t want to see as Spurs make a double substitution. On comes Kulusevski – who was sensational in Tottenham’s reverse win at the City Ground earlier in the season.

Spurs are dominating every passage of play now and Maddison is close again with a shot amongst a congested Forest box.

The ball is being switched with every few passes and Forest are being ran ragged. Change incoming shortly.

Spurs want a fourth and Maddison nearly gives them just that as a well-hit shot from range takes a touch before going behind for a corner. Forest are all over the shop!

18:18, 58

Goal:Tottenham 3-1 Nottingham Forest (Pedro Porro)

Where is Forest’s defence?! Maddison’s cross is nodded into the path of Porro who is completely open in the box.

He could have took a touch to control the ball but decides to put his foot through it and nearly takes the back of the net off.

Three points surely wrapped up now.

18:17, 57

Tottenham 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Gibbs-White is cautioned and deservedly so as he flies through Bentancur. The Forest attacker did get some of the ball but his follow-through was reckless.

18:16, 56

Tottenham 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Can Forest fightback again? Well they are giving it their best effort! The visitor’s keep coming forward but Spurs are holding firm for now at least.

18:13, 53

Goal:Tottenham 2-1 Nottingham Forest (Micky van de Ven)

It’s an absolute THUNDERBOLT from the centre-back as he smashes a rolling ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.

The goalkeeper had no chance of reaching that and Van De Ven can’t believe he has just scored such a brilliant goal. A lesson to Tottenham’s forwards right there!

Werner is hampered by good positional play and is forced to go backwards before the ball rolls out of play. This match has got a bit sloppy with neither team in control.

Johnson spurs a similar chance at the other end as he attempts to try and get his foot around an aerial ball. He might have been better suited to go with his head.

Huge save from Selz as Hojbjerg tries to bend one into the top corner from range. Gibbs-White gets a head on it which made the goalkeeper’s job even harder.

Confirmation of that change as Bentancur comes on, as does Hojbjerg, with Postecoglou clearly unhappy with how that first half ended.

Bissouma and Sarr make way as the game gets restarted,

Tottenham making a change

Spurs are making a half time change it seems as Rodrigo Bentancur begind stripping off his training gear.

HALF TIME: Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest win a corner from a decent free-kick in the dying embers of the half but are denied a sniff at goal by good defending from Udogie.

The three minutes of additional time are run down to bring up half time.

It’s been a strange first 45 minutes, and what I mean by that is Spurs have lost control of the game after scoring early.

The hosts were cruising when Murillo bundled the ball into his own net, but failed to weather Forest’s attack as Elanga found Wood who finished emphatically.

The visitor’s should have been leading but were denied as Wood whacked the woodwork and waste a golden scoring opportunity.

Yates has to be careful here as while already on a yellow card, he then tells the referee to look at an incident with Maddison on VAR.

Technically, if you do that then a yellow card should be shown which in this case would mean Yates is sent off. Simon Hooper talks to both players before play resumes.

It’s a good chance for Johnson but his shot sails just wide in the end. Meanwhilem Yates is seriously unhappy with Maddison.

17:38, 37

Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Elanga has the bit between his teeth now as he races away from a few challenges before trying a shot. It’s well-saved by Vicario and Spurs look shaken after conceding.

17:36, 35

Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Oh my word, how has Chris Wood missed that?! He has a rebound from three-yards out with Vicario scrabling on the floor.

The veteran striker tries to smash his ball through the back of the net and in-turn whalops the ball onto the post that then spits it out as the chance goes begging. Shocking finish, he had to score.

17:33, 32

Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Son goes on a trademark mazing run through Forest’s defence and decides to pass out to Werner rather than take a shot on.

It proves to be the wrong decision as the German slices his cross into the stand.

17:31, 30

Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest look a lot more settled after pulling themselves back level as they get back in their defensive shape and look for any possible chance to break. Spurs slightly messy after conceding.

17:27, 26

Goal:Tottenham 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Chris Wood)

Elanga is clearly carrying no problem anymore as he beats the offside trap and fires a cross in for Wood to hit hard past Vicario. Forest are level as Spurs’ opener is cancelled out.

It’s a wonderful save from Matz Sels to deny Brennan Johnson who flashed a foot at the ball inside the six-yard box.

Forest are hanging on and the former Nottingham Forest man will be wondering how on earth he hasn’t scored.

17:24, 23

Tottenham 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Bissouma looks to be getting dialled in as he tries another shot from range. This time it is on-target but the goalkeeper gets his body behind the ball well.

17:24, 23

Son wants a penalty as he falls down inside the box but is quickly told to get up by the referee.

Ryan Yates protested his innocence and was right to do so as the Spurs captain flopped to the ground.

17:23, 21

Tottenham 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Anthony Elanga wants a free-kick as he bursts down the right-wing but it was fair use of his body by Udogie as he wins the ball back.

Spurs then try to break forward but have to be patient as Forest get behind the ball.

Forest have their first shot on goal with Hudson-Odoi firing an effort into the safe hands of Vicario.

The visitor’s have been very cautious so far but that goal might have woken them up a bit as they chase the game.

17:18, 17

Tottenham 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Spurs have their tails up and wagging now as they fly forward with neat passing play through the middle.

Yves Bissouma eventually takes a shot from outside the box that was hit hard, but just off-target.

17:15, 15

Goal:Tottenham 1-0 Nottingham Forest (Own goal)

Werner is found in space running down the flank and drives a low-cross into the box.

Murillo – who nearly scored from his own half moments earlier – sticks a leg out and directs the ball into his own net. Horror moment for the defender.

17:15, 14

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Ryan Yates pulls Maddison down as Tottenham were breaking and is shown the first yellow card of the game. No doubting the call there as Maddison sought to break.

17:12, 11

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Murillo nearly scores an outstanding goal from his own half just an hour after we saw Bruno Fernandes do something similar for Manchester United.

It was an audacious effort from the Brazilian as Vicario was left stranded and I tell you what, if that was on-target then it was going in,

Forest’s gameplan is evidently to get as many men behind the ball as possible before breaking on the conter-attack.

Tottenham are happy to pass the ball around the edge of the box before looking for a gap.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Spurs are pressing really effectively in the opening exchanges and win a fre-kick deep in Forest’s half. The ball is dinked into the area after first being played wide but the visitor’s clear well.

KICK OFF: Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

We’re underway in London as Forest get the ball rolling. Apologies as we had a couple of technical issues just as the ref blew his whistle which of course is typical timing.

Here come the players…

Right, we’re almost ready to get underway in the capital, make sure to stick with us over the next 90 minutes of action for what is hopefully another Premier League cracker.

Ange Postecoglou highlights Forest threat

The Tottenham manager has been speaking pre-match and outlined the threat that Forest’s potent attack possesses.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: ‘I think in that, all the games are the same at the moment with no easy games for anyone,

‘They have good threats up front and we have to be wary of that but ultimately we are at home and have good home form.’

A new opponent for Timo Werner

The former Chelsea man takes on Nottingham Forest for the first time today and has been trusted by Ange Postecoglou ahead of Dejan Kulusevski.

He grabbed an assist in Tottenham’s recent 1-1 draw against West Ham and will undoubtedly be tasked with using his pace to get in behind Forest’s back-line today.

Warm-ups finishing ahead of kick-off

The players have been getting put through their paces as the stadium fills up nicely and are now heading back down the tunnel for what will be the final time before kick-off.

Spurs have been prone to the odd surprise slip-up this season, while Forest have shown they have the potential to cause an upset. Kick-off is at 6pm.

United close gap to Spurs

A point in Manchester means Erik ten Hag’s side are now eight points behind Tottenham in a race for a place in next season’s Champions League.

It sounds a lot of points – and is a lot – but after today, Ange Postecoglou must prepare his side for a ridiculous schedule with Spurs taking on Newcastle, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next five games.

If United can find any type of consistency, then Spurs could be catchable during that run.

The full-time whistle has just blown at Old Trafford where Liverpool scored late to rescue a point. You can follow all the reaction from that one below.

Tottenham’s main man: Son Heung-min

The Spurs skipper scored his 15th goal of the season in their 2-1 win over Luton last time out and he’s been in terrific form this season.

Son leads the club’s goalscoring charts with three in his last five outings with Richarlison just behind on 11 Premier League strikes.

He’s only scored once against Forest before and needs to produce a huge performance today if the hosts are to snatch a win over a battling visiting side.

Who needs a win the most?

Arguments can be made for both teams, but you really feel this is a bigger game for Nottingham Forest than it is Spurs. Both need points to help their relative causes, but Forest are locked in a five-team race to avoid relegation.

They are currently just outside the drop zone on goal difference alone and a win today would put them three points clear.

Meanwhile, Spurs are within reach of the Champions League places and will move level on points with Aston Villa if they seal victory today.

It’s a different race than usual this season though with fifth-place likely to be enough to qualify for the Champions League this season.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST TEAM NEWS

Forest remain understandably unchanged from the team that started their recent 3-1 win over Fulham.

Callum Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring on their last trip to the captial, will the ex-Chelsea man do so again today?

TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS

Ange Postecoglou names his team to take on Forest with Timo Werner preferred on the wing over Dejan Kulusevski who was sensational in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Forest arrive in London

The visitor’s have arrived and Nuno Espírito Santo was all smiles as he lead his team off the team bus.

I suspect he might have a different look on his face at full-time if Spurs produce another dominant display against Forest.

Tottenham seeking third consecutive win over Forest

A win for the hosts today would make it three wins on the spin against Nottingham Forest. Ange Postecoglou guided his side to a comfortable 2-0 win at the City Ground earlier in the season, with former boss Antonio Conte celebrating a 3-1 home win over Forest last season.

Forest need three points today as they aim to keep their place in the league, but recent history isn’t on their side.

If you wanted to keep updated with the live score from Old Trafford during the ongoing clash between Manchester United and Liverpool before Tottenham get underway then you can do so below.

The hosts have just equalised with a sensational goal from Bruno Fernandes.
