Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has ventured into the fashion world by collaborating with clothing brand Perry Ellis. The 25-year-old Pro Bowler and Perry Ellis will be working together to release a new line set to be launched next summer. The partnership was announced on Tuesday, with the brand’s President and CEO Oscar Feldenkreis expressing excitement about the long-term partnership with Tua.
“As a remarkable talent, both on and off the field, Tua is the quintessential Perry Ellis man,” said Feldenkreis in a statement. As part of the collaboration, Tagovailoa will also be working on his own line of clothing, inspired by his Hawaiian-Samoan heritage.
Tagovailoa expressed his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as “a fun project for me.” He further added, “I appreciate the versatility, optimism and inclusion that Perry Ellis values through their designs and their business.”
The aim of his collection is to take inspiration from his cultural heritage, using elements like earth and water as vehicles for innovation. The collection will emulate the lush mountains, oceanic horizons, bright florals, and textual foliage of the islands.
Is a multi-year deal for Tua
The deal between Tagovailoa and Perry Ellis is multi-year, although the exact length was not specified. Perry Ellis will also support Tagovailoa’s foundation by focusing on youth initiatives, health and wellness programs, and various charitable causes. In light of the recent natural disasters in Hawaii, the Tua Foundation is actively dedicating its resources to assist Maui families affected by the devastating wildfires.
Tagovailoa’s Dolphins have started the season 3-0, setting multiple records in their 70-20 win over the Denver Broncos most recently. Despite his success on the field, he remains dedicated to making a difference off it. The partnership with Perry Ellis is a testament to his versatility and creativity beyond football.
