Dallas Cowboys are one of the great contenders to reach the Super Bowl. The team led by head coach Mike McCarthy already secured a place in the postseason. However, just in Week 15, they were overwhelmed 31-10 by the Buffalo Bills, and no one understands why.
Although the Cowboys are 10-4, scoring 39.9 points and averaging 431.7 yards per game, all of that collapses when they leave AT&T Stadium. Away from home, Dallas is 3-4, scoring 21.7 points and averaging 304.6 yards, which is almost the opposite of its performance at home.
The first to admit that there is concern on the team was Micah Parsons. Speaking to the local press, the linebacker admitted, “We’ve got to get better on the road, and we’ve got to be road warriors throughout the playoffs now because of this.”
The Cowboys’ last loss at home was in Week 2 of the 2022 season, 3-19 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and since then, they have extended a streak of 14 consecutive wins on their home turf. However, Parsons assured, “It doesn’t matter unless we get better on the road.”

Prescott and McCarthy try to decipher the enigma
McCarthy also showed concern in his most recent statements to the press. “We didn’t play well,” the coach admitted after the Buffalo game, “There’s just too big of a gap in (our play on the road). We have to be much better on the road.”
Dak Prescott agreed with his HC and added that they are working to improve their performance away from home. The Cowboys quarterback assured, “These next couple of weeks are about trying to figure out that difference and close the gap.”
Not even clinching a spot in the postseason brought any comfort to Dallas’ signal-caller. “Don’t care, to be honest,” he responded when reporters asked his opinion on the matter.
The race for the NFC East
Although the Cowboys already have their place in the next phase secured, at this time they would enter with a wild card ticket. With a 10-4 record, they are in second place in the NFC East Division, below the Philadelphia Eagles (10-3).
The Eagles are favorites over the Seattle Seahawks in Monday Night Football and have a relatively easy schedule over the last three weeks: New York Giants at 16 and 18 and Arizona Cardinals at 17.
The Cowboys, on the other hand, will visit the AFC’s best seed, the Miami Dolphins, in the 16th. On the 17th, they will host the Detroit Lions and close the regular season on the road against the Washington Commanders. A true litmus test for a team that crumbles out of Texas.
