After the end of his playing career, he joined 1. FC Köln and was a coach at the under-16 level in 2009, and for the 2011–12 season, he was promoted to assistant coach of the main team.

In July 1997, he left Germany and joined Rennes in France after spending six seasons with 1. FC Köln and playing 110 times. During his first Ligue 1 season, he was a regular starter for their starting Lineup, but his appearances were reduced once Paul Le Guen was appointed manager.

He reconnected with Stle Solbakken, who he had previously assisted at 1. FC Köln, when he accepted the position of head coach of the English club Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 2012.

Weiser competed for Bayern Munich, the all-time champions of Germany. However, Weiser’s game time was limited because he had Philipp Lahm to play alongside. The right-back signed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen in July 2018 that pays him a staggering $1.58 million a year in compensation.

Weiser began his professional career with FC Köln’s youth program in the 2005–06 campaign. Before being selected for their senior pool, he played in their youth system for an additional five years.

On February 25, 2012, he made his Bundesliga debut as the club’s youngest player in a match against his current team, Bayer Leverkusen. Funny enough, this was his lone appearance for the team before obtaining a transfer to FC Bayern Munich, one of the biggest clubs in Germany.

Before moving to the capital to play for Hertha Berlin, Weiser played three seasons with Bayern. One of the most talented full-backs in the nation, he established himself here.

Weiser poses a continuous danger along the right side and is a formidable defensive force as well as a goal threat. He is a lethal offensive danger thanks to his unmatched overlapping abilities and preference for crosses.

Leverkusen bought him after he had a good 36 months, and the German international has been there ever since. Weiser made his U-16 national team debut for Germany on January 10, 2010, in a 6-0 victory against Cyprus. On September 4, 2010, he scored his first goal for the U-17 squad in a 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan.

His first major competition was the 2011 UEFA European U-17 Football Championship in Serbia, where the squad made it to the championship game but lost to the Netherlands 2-5.

His next competition was the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in Mexico. The squad finished in third place, and Weiser finished the tournament with three goals in six games. Scouts from all around the world have noticed his strong performance.
