Adam Peaty‘s ex Eirianedd Munro has revealed the Strictly curse was the ‘beginning of the end’ of her three-year relationship with the swimmer.
The artist, 26, who shares three-year-old son George, with the athlete, 29, spoke about the ‘intense attention’ she endured when Adam made headlines after nearly kissing partner Katya Jones during one routine in 2021.
Eirianedd and Adam, who this week revealed his battle with alcoholism and depression, split in 2022 following his time in the BBC competition.
He later started dating Gordon Ramsay‘s daughter Holly, 24, after meeting her while on Strictly and still in a relationship.
Asked whether they would still be together if he hadn’t appeared on the show she told The Sun: ‘It’s hard to say. I think it helped us realise what we wanted in life. Sadly, if it wasn’t for Strictly it would’ve been something else’.

Eirinaedd, who tried to laugh off Adam and Katya’s ‘almost kiss’ during his time in the competition, then went on to issue a warning to future Strictly competitors and encouraged them to think of their loved ones who are often left ‘lonely’ during training.
Saying: ‘Also reassure your partner, especially when the world inevitably begins to speculate there’s something going on between you and your dance partner.
‘And if you’re not strong enough to go through the process, if your relationship isn’t secure, or you don’t know how to handle the intense attention that comes with it, don’t go on the show.’
MailOnline have contacted Adam’s reps for comment.
Adam met Eirianedd on Tinder in 2019 while training in Loughborough, where she was a student – and their son George was born in September 2020.
But they had an acrimonious split in August 2022 and he revealed this week that he had suffered ‘three years of hell‘ – which covers the time when he was with her.
Following his revelation Eirianedd said how she had forgiven and moved from Adam who has faced depression and alcoholism.
She told MailOnline: ‘I’ve chosen to forgive and move forward – anything other than that does not serve the wellbeing of myself, my son and our family.
Announcing the news of their split via social media in 2022, Adam wrote: ‘Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down. My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time.’
Eirianedd took to her own social media to announce the split, predicting she would face an ‘incredibly difficult’ future.

Their split came just weeks after Eirianedd awkwardly refused to pass Adam their son while congratulating him at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, after he won gold in the breaststroke
The split marked another instance of the doomed ‘Strictly curse’ striking once again, after Adam raised eyebrows with his chemistry with pro partner Katya on the dance floor in 2021.
Adam is the latest in a long line of celebrities whose relationships ended during or after the dance show, where stars spend hours training with their professional partners before taking to the stage for steamy and intimate performances.
The Olympic swimmer’s brother James Peaty insisted the split was not due to his sibling’s appearance on the hit BBC dance show, insisting: ‘He was in it over a year ago. It has nothing to do with Strictly.’
But in the wake of the news breaking, Eirianedd shared a statement to her Instagram Story, which read: ‘The last three years have been so, so amazing.
‘Our little family has experienced so much laughter and love and joy. You guys have been such a significant part of that!
‘This next chapter of my life is surely going to be an incredibly difficult one. I would appreciate that people would refrain from commenting, speculating or messaging.
‘I have shared so much of my life, but for now I’m choosing privacy and I hope that you will all respect that.
‘I love and appreciate you all so much and I’m so thankful for all the fun and opportunities you’ve given me.
‘I am going to be taking a break from social media, so goodbye for now. Thank you so much for everything.’

The split came just weeks after Eirianedd awkwardly refused to pass him their son while congratulating him at the Commonwealth Games, after he won gold in the 50m breaststroke.
After the swimmer was awarded his medal, cameras saw him heading to the stands where his then-girlfriend was tearfully watching with their son.
When he reached out to take George from her over the ledge, she could be seen shaking her head, and eventually she made her way back into the crowd.

But now he is back and in good health and was supported by Holly at the qualifiers who even presented him with the medal before they shared a quick kiss.
