Luis Suarez has reunited with Lionel Messi, with the two now set to play soccer in the United States. The two men triumphed years ago with Barcelona and now they will join forces to lead Inter Miami in Major League Soccer (MLS).

This marks the return of one of the great duos of recent times. On Friday, December 22, the club where Leo Messi now plays officially announced that Luis Suarez will play for the club in MLS in 2024, as well as international tournaments such as the Interamerican Cup, Leagues Cup and the Concacaf Champions Cup.

The Uruguayan arrives in Florida to see out the final stretch of his illustrious career, so in his first comments since the move, he didn’t hesitate in expressing his excitement for this adventure.

“I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami,” Suarez said.

“I can’t wait to get started, and I’m ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club a reality. I’m optimistic about what we can achieve together with our shared ambition.”

It should be noted that Suarez will also be reunited with his former Barcelona teammates from a few years ago: holding midfielder Sergio Busquets and left back Jordi Alba, with whom he won four LaLiga titles, the FIFA Club World Cup and a UEFA Champions League.

Suarez has five Spanish LaLiga championships, four with Barcelona and one more with Atletico Madrid. In addition, he won a UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in the 2015 season, the same year in which he also won the Club World Cup.

The striker also holds three titles in Uruguayan soccer with Nacional, and an Eredivise title with Ajax, as well as a League Cup in England with Liverpool.

In addition, the Uruguayan participated in four World Cups with the Uruguayan National Team, in South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022. In those World Cups, Luis Suarez has seven goals and five assists.
