Shakira is dating British actor Lucien Laviscount after falling for the Emily In Paris star while they were starring in her new music video – however her latest romance has sparked concern among her friends, who fear the actor is only in it for the fame.
Their intimate display in the video for Shakira’s song Punteria – which saw a topless Lucien, 31, caressing the Colombian singer’s cheek – sparked speculation that they may have struck up a romance.
Now, insiders have confirmed they are together, but are not ‘heavily involved,’ much to the relief of 47-year-old Shakira’s friends, who reportedly fear he will break her heart.
‘Shakira is desperate to fall in love – but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘The women he has been with are all very different. Now he is seeing Shakira – and she wants love.
‘But her friends fear he just wants people to know his name and she provides that. They are seeing each other but are not heavily involved yet.’
They claimed that she is ‘not over her ex’ Gerard Piqué and that everyone around her ‘knows that Lucien is a rebound.’
‘She is dating someone who they fear is a player and she is going to get burned,’ they finished.

Shakira, who shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, with Gerard, met the British-born star on the set of her video, in which he plays her love interest, back in February.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer is seen wrapped in his arms, while another scene shows a topless Lucien sprawled across her lap with nothing but a loin cloth covering his modesty as she dabs blood from his chest after shooting him with an arrow.
Days after the video dropped, the pair were pictured enjoying dinner at Italian restaurant Carbone in New York City.
Shakira was dressed in a black corset and a leather jacket while Lucien complemented her in all black.

Prior to the Columbian beauty, Lucien was linked to former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona.
Lucien met Kerry in 2011 when he was 19 and she was 31 on Celebrity Big Brother. They were filmed kissing and cuddling on the show and were linked after leaving the house.
Kerry recently addressed reports she dated Lucien, telling OK! magazine: ‘Lucien was very charming when I met him in the Celebrity Big Brother house and we had a good time, but he was never officially my boyfriend…’
He was also linked to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson in November 2021 when they were pictured kissing in the back of a rickshaw in London.
Shakira, who struck a last-minute deal with Spanish prosecutors to avoid jail for tax fraud last year, was with her ex Gerard for 11 years until their split in the summer of 2022 following rumors he was unfaithful.
He has since begun a relationship with 26-year-old Clara Chia Marti.
Shakira recently discussed ‘rebuilding’ her life following her split from the Spanish footballer, and revealed she channeled her pain into her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
‘There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together,’ she told the Times. ‘And the glue that kept it all together was music.’

The singer came under fire yesterday after she revealed her sons ‘hated’ the Barbie movie as it was ’emasculating.’
