Cara Delevingne has unveiled her corrected nightmare tattoo gaffe after fans pointed out last year that her inking was spelled wrong.

The model, 31, stepped out for the Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, wearing a strappy, backless gown.

Last year, Cara got an arm tattoo with an Italian word meaning ‘semi-conscious state’ – but it raised eyebrows as fans noticed a spelling mistake.

But it would appear she has sorted the typo, having added a thicker line to an existing triangle inking to cover the misspelled word.

Cara posed for several pictures at the awards ceremony where she had a side profile, showing off her arm, which highlighted that the tattoo had been fixed.

Her body art raised eyebrows among her fans last year as many pointed out that there could be an embarrassing typo.

The British supermodel posed topless to show off the new abstract inking of a woman’s face on her arm, above the letters ‘Dormiveglia’ – an Italian word that means a ‘semi-conscious state.’

And tattooed alongside is the dictionary definition, but tattoo artist Matteo Nangeroni has replaced the word ‘waking’ with the word ‘walking,’ changing the phrase’s meaning.

It read: ‘Dormiveglia: The space that stretches between sleeping and walking.’

When Nangeroni posted images of Miss Delevingne’s new tattoo on his Instagram account, followers were quick to point out the different wording, which he insisted had been the model’s ‘vision.’

‘Noo… you spelled it wrong, it’s supposed to be ‘waking’ not ‘walking,’ one person wrote, while another added: ‘Walking or waking? Beautiful tattoo though.’

Nangeroni responded: ‘Maybe we chose that?’

He was also forced to defend the fact that Miss Delevingne posed for the photo without her bra on, which she has now said was her own decision.

‘Just to be clear to everyone! I chose to take my bra off, the picture didn’t look good with my bra on,’ Miss Delevingne wrote in a comment.

‘I am a perfectionist especially when it comes to photography and I was trying to help make something beautiful. Everyone calm down please. Thank you x.’

Nangeroni later wrote: ‘Why ‘Naked’? Why walking instead of waking? Maybe because everyone has her/his own vision.’

Miss Delevingne got her first tattoo – a lion’s head – on her finger back in 2013. She has since had a number of beautiful and some rather bizarre inkings including an enormous rose on her side and the word ‘bacon’ on the soul of her foot.

She has a pair of eyes on the back of her neck, ex-girlfriend Ashely Benson’s initials on her ribs and the word ‘solemate’ on the bottom of her foot – a matching tattoo she got with Kaia Gerber.

The model and actress, who has been sober since checking into rehab in 2022, recently said that she wanted to have some of them removed as part of her ‘fresh start.’

She told Vogue magazine that it was on her ‘to do’ list as she wanted to embrace ‘new beginnings.’

Miss Delevingne has been open about going teetotal and how it has finally made her able to ‘trust’ herself after years struggling to cope with her stratospheric rise to fame.

‘It’s been worth every second. I just don’t know what it would take for me to give it up. I am stable. I’m calmer,’ she told Elle Magazine.

‘Before, I didn’t trust myself. I second-guessed myself constantly. There was a lot of anxiety involved. Now I just feel free of that.’
