After Julen Lopetegui departed by mutual consent in August having guided Wolves from the relegation zone to safety last season, the incoming Gary O’Neil was faced with the unenviable task of picking up the pieces and contiuing to build at Molineux.

The departures of Ruben Neves and Mattheus Nunes this summer followeed by just one win from their first five Premier League games did little to inspire confidence, but the O’Neil managed to get the wheels turning.

The side followed up a 1-1 draw with Luton by handing Man City their first defeat of the season, then defeated Bournemouth with respectable draws against the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Defeat away at Sheffield United to hand the newly-promoted side their first win of the season will have come as a shock, but O’Neil will be hoping the result was will prove little more than a blip as they look to continue their good form this afternoon.

The popular Australian has taken English football by storm since taking charge in the summer and saw his side go unbeaten in their first 10 games.

Spurs’ progress was slightly halted by a chaotic 4-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday after they were reduced to nine men, but it has still been a fine start to the campaign.
