Inquiries about private parties have soared by 630 per cent since Boris Johnson announced his roadmap out of lockdown which will see all limits on mixing lifted on June 21
Founder of event-booking site Feast It, Hugo Campbell, told The Guardian: ‘It feels like the start of the Roaring 20s all over again
‘If the roadmap works out it is the start of what is going to be a number of boom years for events . People are going for it â they want to get out and make up for lost time.’
A backlog is expected due to events booked last year which were pushed back when various lockdowns and restrictions were put in place throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
These re-bookings will then be stacked on top of the number of bookings expected in a normal year coupled with people wanting to make the most of their freedom and hosting more events.
The surge in bookings paired with various supplier closures due to lockdown measures will see prices for events such as weddings see a 25 per cent price spike.
