Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic scored 73 points in Friday night’s victory against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on the four-year anniversary of Kobe Bryant‘s tragic death.

Doncic, 24, can now say that only Wilt Chamberlain and Bryant have scored more points than him in one single game. He also broke his own career and franchise record of 60 points to become the latest NBA star to go on a scoring spree.

Chamberlain scored 78 in 1961, had 100 points a year later, and Bryant recorded 81 in 2006 to become the closest attempt at the triple-digit mark.

“It was beautiful,” Doncic said.

Doncic shot 25-for-33 from the floor in Dallas’ 148-143 win over Atlanta, hitting 8 of his 13 attempts from deep.

Other stars around the NBA scoring like crazy

The wild scoring night for Doncic comes on the heels of reigning league MVP Joel Embiid notching 70 points in the Philadelphia 76ers‘ victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

That same night, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns scored 60, and on Friday, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker also put up huge numbers.

Booker, 27, scored 62 in a loss to the Indiana Pacers for the second highest-scoring game of his career.

His career-high is 70 points, also in defeat, but this one hurt that much more because Booker missed what would have been a game-winning buzzer-beater for the Suns.
