Phil Foden has taken on the ‘Team-mates’ challenge as he named the best and worst dressed players and dancers at Manchester City.

The 23-year-old has been in sensational form for Pep Guardiola‘s side throughout the campaign and has now become one of the first names on the City team sheet.

From his 46 appearances in 2023-24, the England international has recorded 22 goals and 10 assists for last season’s Treble winners.

While basking in his fine form, Foden sat down with Mail Sport’s Ian Ladyman to discuss everything from his shirt number choice to his relationship with Guardiola.

And during the interview, the City star also lifted the lid on the dynamics in the changing room, as he partook in an entertaining game of ‘Team-mates’.

Grealish claimed that Foden was the best trainer in the squad, which was prefaced to the 23-year-old when he spoke with Ladyman.

Thus, when Foden was asked who the best trainer was, he replied: ‘Jack Grealish. [Laughs] I’m not lying! He’s good.’

As a contrast, he was then asked who the most laid-back trainer was, to which he named Spaniard Rodri.

Foden then picked out Matheus Nunes as the best dressed squad member, before getting torn between Bernardo Silva or Rodri for worst dressed in the squad.

Honestly responding to a question on who the worst dancer is, Foden named himself. He then claimed that John Stones has the best moves on the dancefloor.

Ladyman went on to query who the most serious in the dressing room is, to which Foden named Rodri, City’s star defensive midfielder, yet again.

He then named England team-mate Kyle Walker as the team’s biggest prankster – given his antics in the dressing room.

As for who has the worst music taste, Foden joked: ‘Anyone Spanish! Because I don’t understand it’. Meanwhile, Jeremy Doku supposedly has the best taste when it comes to music.

The Belgian winger’s name cropped up once more after Foden was quizzed on the most skilful player in the side.

Finally, central defender Ruben Dias took the honours for ‘longest in the shower’ and ‘longest in the gym’.

The last time Foden sat down with Mail Sport was almost five years ago

Five years on, the England international discussed his meteoric rise, from stopping himself from asking for Kevin De Bruyne’s autograph as a new boy in the Man City dressing room, to being named player of the match after facing Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

With Man City out of the Champions League after falling to the Spanish giants on penalties on Wednesday, focus switches to the side’s two domestic tasks.

Pep Guardiola’s side are two points clear at the top of the table in the Premier League and are keen to make history with a fourth consecutive title.

But this weekend will see the players put their title aspirations on hold and defend their FA Cup trophy on Saturday against Chelsea.

The two sides have been locked in an ongoing stalemate in their meetings this season, but Pochettino’s underdog side travel to Wembley on a high after beating Everton 6-0 on Monday evening.
