Gold Coast have now kicked the highest score of any club this season with a whopping 145 points – and there’s still eight minutes left in the game.

The last six points came from Ben King with his fourth goal of the game.

The match was essentially all wrapped up by three-quarter time, but the Suns haven’t taken an inch of their foot off the gas.

Ben King has now hit the lead in the Coleman race, one ahead of Carlton’s Charlie Curnow.

He did it with his third goal this game, level with Sam Day, while Jack Lukosius and Bailey Humphrey both have four each.

The Suns have nine individual goalscorers so far, as they enjoy a 66-point lead.

Max Holmes kicked off the final quarter with the ninth goal for the Cats, but it was quickly answered by Jack Lukosius with his fourth of the night.

It keeps the margin at 66 points, as the Suns eye their biggest win over the Cats in competition history.

There’s been some big comebacks this year, but this aint going to be one of them. The Cats are cooked.

They might as well call time on this one and go and book an early morning barramundi fishing tour among the mangroves – make some good use of their time in Darwin.

It will be the Cats’ third straight loss after winning the first seven and they have slipped sixth on the premiership betting table. Hard to believe they still rate ahead of Essendon after this second-rate showing in Darwin.

The Suns midfielders have been supreme. Touk Miller, Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell have looked the equal of any on-ball brigade across the competition and have fed ample supply to their forwards.

They have turned Darwin into a fortress, handling the heat and the slippery conditions with ease. They had an eight goal third term, leading by 66 points and looking every bit the top eight side.

The Cats will be hanging out to get back to the cool confines of GMHBA, hopefully with a couple of barra in their fishing kits.

The Suns finished the third quarter in huge smiles as Bailey Humphrey kicked his fourth goal of the game after the siren to put Gold Coast up by 66.

It’s big yikes areas for the Cats. I’d hate to think what kind of address they’re getting from Chris Scott right now.

Are you still with us, Cats fans?

Giving the Geelong crew in the outer at Darwin something to cheer loudly about, Gary Rohan has slotted one through.

In bad news, however, for them, Gold Coast just keep booting more and more. The last from Bailey Humphrey with his third of the evening, which follows Matt Rowell with his first of the night.

Ben King has added his name to the scoresheet with a major that takes his just one behind Charlie Curnow in the Coleman medal race this season.

Sam Day then backed it up with his third goal of the day. The Suns are just flying tonight against a very sloppy-looking Cats, who just can’t get their game going.

Tyson Stengle has broken the Suns run of seven unanswered goals with a crafty kick on the arc.

Chris Scott will surely hope it gets the cats going as they struggle in the hot conditions in Darwin.
