Todd Goldstein is a late out for the Bombers. He is being managed today, meaning means Nick Bryan will get his first game of the season, with Elijah Tsatas as the sub.

No changes for Gold Coast, with David Swallow as the sub.

The bloodbath keeps getting worse for Melbourne, who are in danger of a triple-digit defeat to Fremantle.

The Dockers have 18 goals at three-quarter-time to the Demons’ five, and lead by 81 points in what has been an extraordinary afternoon in Alice Springs.

Sam Switkowski, Hayden Young, Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong have been outstanding, while Josh Treacy, Jye Amiss and Michael Walters have helped themselves to three goals apiece.

Making matters worse is that this is close to Melbourne’s best side, outside of the missing Jake Lever and Jacob van Rooyen, but their absence at either end has been notable.

The Demons look powerless to stop Fremantle, who will overtake Melbourne on the ladder thanks to this result. Only the margin is still to be decided.

Let’s see what happens in this final term…

You’d think Melbourne are getting one hell of a talking to in their third-quarter huddle after scoring just a measly five goals by the final change. And it’s not like it’s a hard-fought close game.

Fremantle have booted 18 goals to put through 115 points by three-quarter time. Jye Amiss, Josh Treacy and Michael Walters all have three goals each, while Sam Switkowski and Hayden Young are dominating the touches with 24 each. Jordan Clark is close behind them with 23.

You woulnd’t be having a great day out if you were a Melbourne fan at Traeger Park in Alice Springs today, but at least they got another goal this quarter through Tom McDonald. The first one was through Christian Petracca.

Those two goals is a vast improvement on the just one major in the second term they kicked through Clayton Oliver.

Meanwhile, Fremantle have broken the 100-point margin through Caleb Serong, with a goal from a throw in stoppage, and Luke Jackson, with his second of the day.

Fremantle are absolutely putting Melbourne to the sword.

20-year-old Jye Amiss has put all the speculation over the past week about whether he was struggling with the yips to bed with his third goal of the game against Melbourne.

To be fair, the Dockers are basically enjoying a training drill in Alice Springs at this point. They have now kicked 15 goals to four and are enjoying a 69-point lead, midway through the third quarter

Richmond has confirmed first-year forward Mykelti Lefau’s season is over after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Geelong on Saturday night.

The New Zealand-born, 25-year-old forward has kicked 14 goals from 10 games since his debut in round three but he hyperextended his right knee after landing in a marking contest late in the final term and was taken from the ground.

Tigers coach Adem Yze feared Lefau, who had his left knee reconstructed while playing in the VFL in 2022, had ruptured his ACL but declared the club would ’wrap their arms around” the player.

Tigers football performance general manager Tim Livingstone said he looked forward to see Lefau continue his career next year.

“Football can be a cruel game sometimes, and for Mykelti, who has been in terrific form, this is an unfortunate way for his debut season to finish,” Livingstone said.

“Mykelti has not put a foot wrong since he joined our AFL program in the pre-season, and we know he will attack his rehab with the same professionalism and energy that has held him in such strong stead this season.

“We will give him our support every step of the way and help him to return to action and to continue with his promising career in 2025.”

Christian Petracca kicked the first goal of the second half three and a half minutes in, but Michael Frederick got one back for Fremantle less than a minute later to cancel it out.

At least it’s a bit of movement for the Demons after just a three-goal first-half.

Ok, let’s see what happens from here. Will Fremantle keep their party going or will Melbourne be able to conjure up something to stop it?
