The Indiana Fever recorded their second win of the season, but the headlines were dominated by something else as Chennedy Carter‘s ridiculous foul on Caitlin Clark left fans stunned and now the Chicago Sky player has responded by telling her haters she simply does not care.

Clark posted 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Fever took their second win in five games, suggesting they’re starting to get on the board, but the victory was marred by Carter’s foul. The action was completely unnecessary and excessive, although the WNBA referees refused to call it a flagrant foul.

Caitlin Clark is the victim of foul play; Angel Reese’s viral reaction sparks speculation: Does she really hate her?

It’s left fans who watch the sport, and even NBA players, calling for extra protection for the Fever’s ace as the persistent fouls continue to rack up against her with players viewing it as an effective way to try to shut her down, but Carter doesn’t seem too bothered by the noise.

“I grew up with all brothers, all we did is fight and argue,” Carter posted on Instagram, inside of a coach, after the loss. “I love the hate more than the love, what don’t y’all understand. I’d rather you hate me than love me and I mean that on my dead aunt.”

What did Carter do?

The incident took place in the third quarter with less than 30 seconds on the clock as the Fever led by six, with the moment looking as though it actually began at the prior play when Clark appeared to say something to Carter as she jogged back towards her own half.

It came after Clark looked to lead the transition play for the Fever to drive them up the field but had a lot of contact with two of the players for the Sky, including Carter, something she clearly didn’t feel so happy about.

So, when Carter managed to score her next basket, after losing Clark inside the semi-circle, instead of going back to defend she then charged Clark whilst the ball was not live and knocked the 22-year-old to the floor with a shoulder barge.

Replays show she shouted something at her before the foul, which she responded to by walking off to her own half as though nothing had happened.
