If there was one common theme within the offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s that they wanted to get more help for Patrick Mahomes. Despite winning the Super Bowl last season, it was clear from the get-go that the wide receiver room was lacking in talent and mental fortitude.
So in free agency and the NFL Draft, the Chiefs attacked the position with ferocity, with their two big additions being veteran Marquise Brown and first round pick Xavier Worthy. We already have an inkling that Brown could turn into Mahomes’ favorite wideout.

The two connected on a deep ball with the Chiefs back at practice on the first day of OTAs. Brown has always had speed to burn, and Mahomes’ fantastic arm strength and accuracy on long passes could be put to better use with the 26-year-old in town.
Worthy is the speed demon, but he’s currently sitting out of practice with a hamstring injury. Rashee Rice, the breakout rookie from 2023, has dealt with a litany of legal issues all offseason and could be facing a suspension at some point this season.
With Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore fully unreliable and Marquez Valdes-Scantling gone, Brown is already building chemistry and could be set up for a career season in his first year with Kansas City.
