New York Jets coach Robert Saleh insisted there is “no issue” between Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the squad after confirming his absence from the team’s minicamp.

Teams are allowed to hold one minicamp in the final phase of organized team activities (OTAs) during the offseason, with the Jets holding theirs on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Aaron Rodgers calls for team doctor after injury scare at Jets practice – VIDEO

The 40-year-old was conspicuous by his absence as the players reported for a mandatory two-day practice camp, which concluded on Wednesday.

Rumors swirled there could have been an issue between Rodgers and his teammates, given that he was present at the Jets’ OTAs as recently as June 4.

But Jets head coach Saleh clarified the situation by revealing the veteran had informed him he would miss the minicamp to attend an event that was “very important to him”.

Aaron and I are on the exact same page. There’s no issue between Aaron [and I] or his teammates for that matter. We addressed it [Tuesday],” Saleh said. “It’s more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside. That’s about it.”

Saleh confirmed he did not speak to the one-time Super Bowl winner over his unexcused absence, suggesting he would not be pushing to punish the former Green Bay Packers playmaker.

The only other Jets player missing from the minicamp was defensive end Haason Reddick, who is staying away because he wants a new contract, according to the New York Post.

Both players face paying a fine after breaching regulations from the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, which could see them pay up to a maximum $50,000 each.

Insiders claim Aaron Rodgers is on vacation

It is still yet to be determined exactly where Rodgers is, but many would expect it to be a serious reason to keep him away after he missed a chunk of the 2023-24 season with a torn Achilles injury.

However, according to FS1’s Colin Cowherd, he is currently on vacation. Cowherd shared information regarding Rodgers’ whereabouts that he had allegedly overheard from an unnamed source.

“I was told last night, from a source I trust, Aaron’s on vacation, and it’s overseas,” he said on his program ‘The Herd’.

“Don’t be surprised. This is sort of what you would expect. Impulsive owner, new GM, coach with a losing record, prickly, older, at times arrogant, disconnected quarterback, in New York City, with a pretty relentless and inarguably massive press core.”
